Once you have had the Chickenpox, you can't get it again. Check out the following references:

If you and your daughter have already had the chicken pox the likely hood that you will get it again is very slim. I won't say impossible because well hey you just never know right. Usually 99% of the time once you have it you cant get it again. Step up and help your niece out

All these untrue answers about not getting the pox twice. Let me tell you, You can get them Twice! and as an adult they can lead to more serious illness like shingles. While you are less likely to get them twice, you have to decide if this is what you want to deal with for 5 to 10 days in your home and then are you willing to wait the 3 weeks to find out if you contracted them again yourself. I understand the wanting to help your family, but really that is what parents are for and she or he should take the time off to be home with their sick child. Good luck in your decision.

I agree that while it is possible to catch chickenpox twice, it is unusual. Also, unless you are pregnant or likely to be in contact with people who are, it is usually not a serious illness. Your daughter could just as easily pick it up a second time at the supermarket, as it is infectious before the spots appear.
As for a cough, I don't think it is normally a part of the virus, but anyone with a lowered immune system (i.e. someone with chickenpox) is vulnerable to pick up coughs and colds.
Just use your usual judgement as a parent and good sister.
Good luck

You are supposed to expose your children to kids that have chicken pox. If one kid has them, gather up all the kids in the neighborhood and lock them in a room together. Getting them in childhood is no big deal, but getting them as an adult can be fatal. It also creates immunity to smallpox.
Best thing you can do is rub the kids together. If you've had them, you can't get them again (just like you can't get small pox), you're immune.

First of all you can get them more than once it is a proven fact especially for the older ones that have not had the vaccination. by now your daughter should have already had her vaccinations but as for you just be carefull and wash your hands alot and your daughters too and your neice especially before eating and after using the bathroom, you should also purchase the clorox wipes and lysol to prefent any spreading that there might be. but i think that for at least the first 2-3 days her mom needs to stay home with her just incase she is sick with them. tel her to put calamine lotion on them or that vicks vapor rub also works too to keep out the itch. but she should really go to the doctor. be sure to make sure that anything that she touches your daughter doesnt put it in her mouth. but yeah you can get them more than once i have proof.

if you have had them then you cant get them again. i cant exactly remember what they say about the pox or bumps themselves but i think its if they are scabbed over then she is no longer contagious anyways.
