It could be a Turkish Van, Turkish Angora or a Singapore streetcat or domestic shorthaired cat.

Many breeds have this calico color pattern, but I'd vote for a domestic shorthair from either an individual or the animal shelter. Tortoiseshell would be black with orange streaks. Sometimes they also have white on them, but the orange is in streaks rather than patches.

well different cats have different temperaments, and the color of the cat does not resemble this. yes, a calico is a female, which colors are normally white, orange and black... if it has lots of black than its a tortishell... if it has lots of white, a calico... all tortieshells and calico's are females. all orange cats are males.. well most of the time... females tend to act more like females.. like humans, they can get a little prissy... umm, Ive seen that males tend to be goofy, and easy going. try going to your local animal shelter to see the cats and there personalities. they should be full now, as it is kitten season! best of luck

A white, orange and black cat IS a calico. A tortoiseshell doesn't have the white and is more like black or grey with orange "ticking".

Sounds like a calico, but I have read up on this and they say there are also tri - color torties but they are supposed to have less white then a calico.

Calico and tortis are very fiesty and playful but are known to be aggressive as well (usually not towards owners - just the vets and their staff!)
