I have seen many of those in my life. They have a mistaken idea that they have nothing because that is the will of God. Not because they don't go to work. Some people take scripture out of context to justify their laziness. They feel that if they would just pray the right prayer that God will place everything in their hands. It is very frustrating to see that. They need some accountability. Jesus did not intend for people to be like that. Even He made sure the crowds were fed and the taxes paid.

That's a stupid statement!
The more "heavenly minded" you are,
the more good you can do on earth!
Look at Mother Theresa, Albert Schweitzer,
Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King,
Lech Walensa, Mikhail Gorbachev,
(who was a closet Christian)... not to
forget the Dalai Lama, Pope John Paul II...
The list goes on and on. All these people
were very heavenly minded, and did
much earthly good!

A true Christian has given his heart to God and his hand to mankind.
So, if you find someone that is so heavenly minded that they are no earthly good, then you've found an out of balanced person who may or may not love and walk with Christ.

I dont understand what you mean by "earthly good". Every Christian should be helping his/her brother/sister. We Should also work("he who doesn't work doesn't eat") and in general show others the grace thats been shown to us and preach the gospel in the way God intends for that individual.

Do you mean someone stands around staring at the sky intently, never eating and drinking or sleeping? Is that what you mean? Around here, they take people like that to the hospital.
Hmmm....no, I'd guess that's not what Jesus meant, but I can't say for sure. I'm not against suicide in order to get to heaven. It would be nice if people made their arrangements ahead of time if that is what they are planning, though. Sounds callous, but there you are.

The Jesus I learned about thought all people were equal, no matter what, and that's what I believe...
I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter.
