My sympathies on your discouraged feeling. We can't tell you what is wrong in your heart and how to fix it.
It's true that we humans have spiritual needs that have to be met for us to be happy, just as we have physical and emotional needs. Whether the Christian church or some other path is right for you, is a question only your heart can answer.
In the meantime remember that this life is a precious gift, whether we're feeling it or not, and there is much beauty, kindness and work to be done that only you can do!
I suggest you research several spiritual paths that draw you, and go from there. My personal choice is Buddhism, you'll find your spiritual home in time.
In the meantime, here's a big , I hope you feel more optimistic soon!

Even those with a strong spiritual life often get depressed. Sometimes this can be a chemical condition within the brain---clinical depression. It is never a mistake to return to God and start a new spiritual life----however, that is no substitute for good medical care as well. make an appointment with your primary physician, they can walk you through some questions to help determine your emotional status.....

Crying for no reason is called depression. If it lasts two weeks you need to go in and get some pills for it.
You can try returning to God and starting a new spiritual life. I can't guarantee you'll find happiness if you have depression, though. If you are just sad, that's different. Depression is a brain thing.

dont be sad. everyone feels depressed sometimes, it will pass. and you are free to do what you want spiritually but just remember that happiness starts with you, and no amount of religion can fix it. it may put a bandaid on it temporarily but eventually you will discover that it just masked a personal problem and you will feel the same way. start with exploring yourself and figure out why you really feel this way. happiness comes from within, so get to know yourself and find the reasons for your unhappiness.

Happiness is fleeting. What you would find is Joy. Its an attitude. You would still get sad and depresseds at times. You just have to ask Him to help you see whats making feel that way and go from there.

You don't need God, it will not bring you spiritual satisfaction, otherwise there would be not "return to", now would there? Grow some nuts and stand on your own two feet instead of The God Crutches. They're only bringing atrophy to your own character and strength, which I'm sure you have plenty of. Everyone gets depressed, it's ok.

Having God is the only way to get happiness. You have no idea what you are missing out on without Him. Once you make things right with God everything will come together. He does exist, and I pray that the nonbelievers come to their senses before it's too late. God Bless

Studying Islam and becoming a Muslim brought me a peace of mind I've never known. I even weaned off anti-depressants. But you may want to seek a doctor's help while you find your way.
May Allah guide you and bless you.
Peace be upon you!

the soul will not be satisfied until it is with God. You were created by God for God! You will experience happiness when you accept God. Accept Jesus as lord and savior, repent of your sins, and ask him to help you. God gives us strength when we are down. You may also seek counseling and family help if your depression gets overwhelming. God bless.
