The drinking age was 18 here in my state at one time. It seems that a lower drinking age makes it easier for even younger people to get there hands on alcohol as compared to when it is 21. When I was in the US Army at the young age of 18, alcohol was legally sold to those who were 18, 19 and 20. ON base. The policy was beer and wine only no hard stuff. But I could still get any type of alcohol if I wanted to get it. Life seemed a lot better in the Army if I did not use alcohol.

I was watching a news program the other day in which they said 18 year olds that were in one branch of the service (can't recall which one off hand)are able to purchase and drink alcholic beverages only while they were at a bar on base, and they were not going to leave there for the night.

Why is it that an eighteen year old can die for his country but can't collect social security?

It's apples and oranges, so don't argue it. When there's a draft, and you're drafted, I'll buy you a beer.

cause america sucks

If im 18 (even though im 20) i can help decide who i want to rule the country, i can buy and smoke cigarettes, drive wherever i want, legally move out, and control my life, yet i can grab a damm beer and watch a game at a sports bar.

Europe has got it right.

I don't understand this question. What does buying beer have to do with fighting for your company. That's like saying, "Why can you fight for your country but not be president of the United States?" or "Why can you drive a car but not be allowed to fight for your country? They have nothing to do with each other.

I'm 41 year's old and I have been saying that for year's. If you can be tried as an adult go to war and risk your life. But you can't have a drink in a bar, That's completely ridiculous

Just don't make sence to me, also you can't vote. If you could your vote would not mean anything with the stupid way it's run.
