If you are not willing to cut back on the things that will make you gain weight fastest--starchy foods like pasta, rice, white bread, crackers, and foods high in fat, calories and sugar--then I suggest portion control. It's not easy, but if you pay attention to the nutrition information panel on just about every food item out there, it will tell you how large a serving is, how many calories each serving is, the amount of carbohydrates/sugar, etc., that the food you eat contains.

1500 to 2000 calories is generally the range of daily consumption. If you write down what you eat, how much you eat, and the calories in your food, you can see where you need to make changes.

Exercise is important. After years of fighting it, I've learned that the best way for me to lose and keep off weight is not to eat more than I burn off. That means at least 30 minutes of exercise (I ride a bike) per day during the week, and at least two 30 minute sessions on the weekend. My bike shows me how many calories I burn, and the distance I've cycled.

Drink plenty of fluids--water is best; juices are okay if you pay attention to the serving size because they can pack a lot of sugar and calories.

If you're willing to ride an extra 30 minutes on the bike, then go ahead and eat that second piece of cheesecake. I have a friend who eats more sweets than I do, and that is her philosophy. But she works hard to keep it off. I've found it easier to just watch HOW MUCH I'm eating. That way I can still have snacks, sweets, and occasionally a serving of pasta, but I stop at ONE serving.

Below is a link to a site that will give you nutritional information on just about any type of food, and another that will tell you how many calories you should consume based on your weight, height and age. I hope this helps!

Simply DONT eat what you want, follow a diet. Why does it matter how the food tastes? You want a big fatty burger? It will just make you feel worse, eat some healthy food, it may not taste great but its helping you more then you know.

I suggest doing some simple workouts, setup a program and stick to it.

Example:

Wakeup
Eat healthy breakfast
30 pushups
50 bell lifts

ect, this is just an example and you should change it to however you like.

Lessen your portions.

Instead of eating a whole piece of cake, eat only half of it. Have half a Coke instead of a whole can.

Eat when you're hungry and stop eating when you're not hungry. Forget about eating until you feel full or bloated.

Drink more water.

Make more exercise to make up for the extra calories of your favorite foods. Walk for thirty minutes each day.

Have a small notebook with you at all times and write down what you eat and the amount of calories the portion had. Aim to eat around 1200 calories a day.

I lost 79.5 lbs. doing weight watchers on line. I still eat Chinese once a week and have a candy treat daily. It took about 2 weeks or so to get used to the points system but the scale showing a loss was enough motivation. I never count a point during weekend dinners which is my reward for being good all week although I still have candy or Oreo after dinner every night.
Good luck...

just cut down on the amount of food you eat, you can still eat what you want, just not as much. Go for a 1/2 hour walk every day. Drink more water.

i lost 11 pounds over three months eating what I want but less of it. I also worked out 1/2 hour every other day but slightly high cardio. I have to have low stress due to my knees. I love salads so that probably helped a lot as I ate many of them.

If you have enough money, you could do jenny creg, which have AMAZING food, but it's like 400 dollars a week not including the membership. You could also look up a diet on the Internet. Some of those crazy diets actually work!
