For what purpose?

Okay, reality is that happiness is transitory. It comes, it goes, depending on how we feel.

Now, joy, on the other hand is a constant. It is a part of us that doesn't depend on what is happening on the outside.

So, in my opinion, happiness can't be conquered until a person surrenderes to joy. Then, happiness doesn't really matter.

Why would one want too? Conquer: : to overcome by mental or moral power , Why would you want to overcome happiness? Wouldn't you rather be happy?
