Is religion a bicameral mental illness?

We should start a war on that disease!! Race for the cure!!
BE ONE LESS!! The world needs a vaccine!! Get tested!! All infected should stop talking to stop the spreading!! Its contagious!! Billions have been killed and its getting worse!!

I guess most of you missed the point!
Billions have died because of religion. We say we need to cure diseases that kill people at an alarming rate. Religion kills at an alarming rate. I give up on you people. I'm out of here.

There is only one Law that needs to be followed universally: Treat others as you want to be treated yourself by them.

You are loosing site of the real world. Yes, religion has been used as an excuse for lots of things, even killing. Those who use it as an excuse to kill would find another reason if religion was not available.
There are a lot of religions, a lot of false religions. Some teach peace, passivity. Others teach hate.
The one True God teaches love. But also teaches that we should protect ourselves using love and peaceful ways if possible. If not, we may fight back physically.
Being 'one less' is not the answer for today's problems. In fact, it would be worse. Christianity, in it's true form, is the cure.

I'm a Christian, and agree, don't buy into religion. It will get you nowhere fast.
Trust Jesus Christ and enter into a personal relationship with the living Savior. It was religious people that put Christ on the cross, as well as my sin, and God Himself sent Jesus who voluntarily went there to be a substitute for sin. That's no religion, that's a fact of history where God acted in space and time for people. That's no man made rules (religion), that's the gospel of grace by which we can be saved.

The only reason someone gets all riled up about religion like that is if they are uncomfortable with their unbelief.

There have been recent studies that show that there is a genetic predisposition to believe. So should we abort any babies that have the gene?

Yes! That's what we need - more truth about the war on terror. It really is a war on religion, because so much of this war on terror is because of different religious beliefs

it's amazing, atheists have figured out everything. They know every fact and personally verified every science experiment in mankind. My faith makes me stupid but atheists have faith in every scientist who has been proven wrong and proved another scientist wrong. Atheists can not fathom a higher being because they believe they are the smartest.
