No, not at all. I got my start in retail (defunct electronis retail outlet called SILO) and now I sell enterprise network security software making well into 6 figures 20 years later... If you want to get your feet wet in sales, retail is a great start,,,,

You should never be ashamed of doing honest work. You will find that people who work at Best Buy, other retail stores, McDonalds, as janitors, whatever, work very hard each day and earn every penny they get.

Be proud of the fact you found a job and took the initiative to work. Some people sit on their bums and do nothing, looking for a handout by the government.

Unless you have rich parents or a trust fund, everyone has to start at the bottom and work thier way up. With that being said, working in a retailer is a good way of doing that. However, NOT at Best Buy.

The number of people who have had bad experiences with Best Buy is staggering. Check out the link to see yourself (and keep in mind this is just one of dozens of sites like this): http://www.bestbuysux.org/

And don't get me started on problems that the Geek Squad (the tech support company ran by Best Buy) has. Its almost worse, check the link: http://consumerist.com/consumer/roundups/top-geek-squad-stories-to-date-257316.php

So please for the love of god work somewhere decent.

Maybe yu think is horrible to mwork here but... you're lucky to have at least a job. There's a lot of unemployed people in the world so... don't be ashamed to work, no matter what the place is. Wake up early, put a big smile on yer face and show the world that you can do it, ok? Good luck!

If you want a life don't go into retail . You will work the worst hours, weekends, holidays, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.

Heck no, work somewhere that interrests you. You will have fun, the time goes by faster, and you usually get a good discount on the things you already love. Now if your talking about a career... ya might want to aim a little higher, unless you plan to work up to management there.
