Evolution isn't exactly a magical "snap of the fingers" as you might think it would be. It's only simple logic: DNA strands make slight genetic "errors" that give the subject different traits and characteristics. If these traits give the organism an advantage, the organism will survive, and pass these "good" genes on to the next generation, and so on and so forth.

It's not that complicated, it's just a logical process. So why WOULDN'T it happen as you typically claim?

to TEK:
If that claim is true, children with Down Syndrome or Autism should be able to recover by having their genes correct the replication errors that occurred.
DNA has SOME repairing capabilities, but not to the extent that you claim.

The DNA that you speak of is a complex chemistry code, which has a self correcting mechanism to prevent errors. That mechanism prevents defects, IN MOST CASES. In some cases, the errors that are created past a certain point in gestation do not repair - hence Down's Syndrome.

Defects have been proven to be degenerative. No "defect" has ever been found that is beneficial to a species in the long term. Down's syndrome is a perfect example of why defects do not produce a successful mutation.

Creationists DO generally believe in "micro" evolution, which is better called adaptation. This is what Darwin observed with the finches and other birds on Galapagos.

Adaptation is a process built into the variety of species; however you don't get animals crossing from one "kind" to another.

Besides, the greatest seperations, from vertibrates to invertibrates, or cold blooded to warm blooded, would require more than a thousand mutative adaptations to allow a species to transform from one to the other.

The cold/warm blooded or vertibrate/invertibrate changes are vastly more complex than the concerns of animals that would have to adapt from salt water to brackish water to fresh water - such as would have happened in Noah's flood.

The "logic" which you mention is not logical at all. You are unaware of the fact that biologists have wrestled with the two major concerns I mention above with NO answer, despite trying to make one up for over a hundred years.

Things most certainly do evolve. Most reasonable Christians do not doubt that. To what extent is unknown. No proof of that extent been presented.
It is no secret that atheism has adopted the theory of evolution as "proof" of God's nonexistence where it does no such thing. Nor did it prove in the previous versions of the theory. Skepticism serves as a preservative of truth. Will new discoveries produce revision?
Christians tremendously enjoy observing God's creation in its every aspect.

Because mutations cause harm, not good.
Because in nature there is no example of chaos "evolving" itself into coherent, cohesive, information.

Things in nature fall apart, they don't evolve up the food chain.

Slight variations in color and size don't explain the original organism

Darwin had no idea of the complexity of the cell, and a statistical probability analysis shows that a million million years would not be enough time for life to just "evolve"

Deof, that is great:

Creationism parallels evolution Exactly if you replace seven days with seven eras before the creation of man, and stopping trying to claim that the PLANET EARTH IS a few thousand years old.

Those are the kind of obvious falsities that drive intelligent people away from religion, and our intelligence level today is proof of evolution.

It's amazing how many atheists are as ignorant of Christian belief as they claim Christians are of science. There is nothing in evolution, when defined as "change with modification", that is contradictory to Christian belief. What has not and cannot be proven is whether, with enough changes, one can get from goo to you via the zoo.

i agree with you. anybody who would deny this simple process happens, is just too ignorant to let go of their religion and open their minds a little. we should hope evolution happens and be damn thankful, so that we can keep our own species alive. most people need to start using those things inside their skulls called brains.

So, because I believe in creation that means I don't believe in evolution?

That's why I love yahoo, I'm always being told what I believe and don't believe in as a Christian.

Cause one simple genetic error, in one primate causes an entire new species to exist? Dont think so.
