I think whether you remember if you did something bad with the intention of doing it or not is not really the issue. Allah knows what your intentions where at the time. If the intention was bad, you can ask Allah for forgiveness especially after fasting in Ramadan and Insha Allah you will be forgiven. And if your intention was not bad Allah is all knowing on this also and you have nothing to worry about.
I think ask for forgiveness for what you cannot recall, do it with a genuine heart and a true intention and let it go.
Allah only wants us to be human and being human means we error means we sin. The point is to recognize it and try not to make the same mistake twice. Praying to Allah is the best thing you can do. Insha Allah sister that you get some relief and that you stop torturing yourself with these thoughts and put your faith and trust in Allah that he is all merciful and all forgiving. Peace to you sister Asalum Allikum.

I don't think you need to keep dwelling on the "thing" in the past. What's over is over. You didn't do wrong. And IF you had any bad intention (which it sounds like you didn't ), you sound sincere in your desire to not want to do that thing. It's your sincerity, too, that matters.
And remember that Allah's mercy is like rain falling down. That may be why you feel comfort in your prayres! So keep praying!
I think istakara is for a particular situation, asking Allah to bless it if it is good for you, and to turn you away from it if it is bad for you. Why don't you try reciting Al-Fatiha when you feel discomfot, or try praying "Subhan'Allah" 33 times, "Alhamdulillah" 33 times, and "Allahu Akhbar" 33 times followed by "La illaha illallah, Muhammadu rasoolullah" (sorry if I don't have the transliteration just right!).
May Allah bless you!

Possibly Allah is telling you that you had no negative intention - or that it doesn't MATTER what your intention was as he forgave you a long time ago. However, you still keep feeling guilty about it "just in case" Allah is wrong and he didn't forgive you.
Yes, your anxiety is playing havoc with you. If you have those anxiety pills, take one. (I get this way, too.) If it keeps bothering you, see if you can get in to see a counselor to talk this out. You may be obsessing over it.
You'll do fine.

Assalam u alaikum sister, it seems as though you are sincere in your words.
I can only offer simple advice : Beg Allah swt to forgive you for the sins that you did both Knowingly AND unknowingly. This means that even if you had a hint of bad intention, then inshallah, Allah will see that you are sorry for what you did, and He will forgive you.
Whether you did , or did not have bad intention, only Allah knows. But he does forgive, so instead of getting anxious, keep on beggin for forgiveness.
May Allah swt grant you heaven my sister in Islam!

you are over obsessing you say you did not do the wrong thing... often bad thoughts enter our mind it does not mean we are bad... but if you acted according to your conscience then you took responsibility... it does not matter what the thought was or might have been... set it aside it is not important what thought occurred... you are anxious because you are obsessed...let it go... it's over... and begin thinking of more positive things.. listen to music that uplifts you and be kinder to yourself.

Your confusion is that of Iblis and should dwell on the wellness of spirit rather than consistantly choosing to doubt. Have confidence my child for without it you open yourself up to the jinns.................
