Tolerance is good, but christianity is nuts. No tolerance is how you get racism, wars, etc.

It seems like in this day and age if you are not tolerant of everything you get labeled as somekind of "phobe". But Iam sorry there are just somethings I do not and will not tolerate.
Tolerance vs. Love
Tolerance says, "You must approve of what I do."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will love you even when your behavior offends me."
Tolerance says, "You must agree with me."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will tell you the truth,
because I am convinced 'the truth will set you free.'"
Tolerance says, "You must allow me to have my way."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will plead with you to follow the right way,
because I believe you are worth the risk."
Tolerance seeks to be inoffensive;
Love takes risks.
Tolerance glorifies division;
Love seeks unity.
Tolerance costs nothing;
Love costs everything.

You don't have to agree with what everyone says. We are given a brain to think with, to use common sense. If something doesn't appeal to you, than walk away from it in silence.
You don't have to debate it and make the person you don't agree with feel bad. Who knows why people think, and do what they do. Their given a brain too.
Your right how you are thinking. It's a chose for you and them. Free will always boils down to what we end up doing.

As a Christian myself, I find your question confusing.
I think true Christians would agree that Christ taught us to love all people - how else are we to share God's love with others if we are intolerant & judgmental?
Is it not one of the 'Ten Commandments' that 'Thou shalt not Judge?'
Therefore, I don't understand how the issue of tolerance even comes in to play in the life of a true Christian.
If one is concerning him/herself with whether or not they have to be tolerant, then they are missing the point of a very important principle in living a Christian life - Acceptance.
There is no 'but' in Love Thy Neighbor.
There are many things to judge about ALL of us, Christians & non-Christians alike. However, real Christians remember that everyone of us, even the most devout or church-going is still a Sinner. God is the judge of things, not us.
In addition,
There is a difference between Tolerance & Passiveness.
Tolerance is not taking action against someone because they believe or say or do something you disagree with.
Passiveness would be going along with it even though you disagree with it.
There is also a difference between Acceptance & Agreeing with someone.
Real Christians practice Acceptance by not passing judgment on someone or being prejudiced or hateful to someone because they don't agree with what they believe, what they do or say, or their lifestyle.
For true Christians, that would include:
-all races & colors
-all sexual orientations
-people of other religions - that's a hard one, isn't it? However, that's a test of your true faith.
-people who are hateful to you because you are a Christian
-people who are skeptical about your beliefs
-Other Christians who sin (suprise - that would be all Christians!)

Tolerance means that we do not harm you anyway because you have not seen the truth yet. Of course we do not accept your foolishness. We still give you a chance to come to the truth. Islam has no tolerance. It will kill you in the name of their non-existent god, Allah. It is a false god and a false religion!
Muhammad a false prophet. They depend on brain-washing and swords to spread terror, hoping to control the whole world!

Your point is well taken. There are some actions that should not be tolerated (such as flying airplanes into buildings), and there is every reason to deal sternly with people who do so.

God doesn't say to tolerate everything. We are supposed to keep ourselves seperate from evil, but we also need to show compassion to those who are sinning otherwise they won't see any reason to come to Christ.
