God says that what ever a man sows, so shall he reap. The world says it this way, what goes around, comes around. So, there are always consequences to our decisions.
We may be forgiven for fornication, however, if it was with someone who had AIDS, then it is possible, that while we are forgiven, we may still die of AIDS. Consequences.
God does say that if we truly believe in Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven. However, He also tells us that we will be judged in the Final judgement.
So what will we be judged for? What we did or didn't do with what He gave us. Again, consequences.

Heretic,
Asking for forgivness is not enough to become a Christian according to what I find in the Bible. I am a Non-Denominational Christian who follows only the Scriptures to find what we are supposed to do. I do believe that we are all going to be Judged by Christ at the time that GOD has chosen. That time is not known by anyone but HIM at this time. Christ will come and we will alol be subject to the Judgment then. I believe that every sin each of us has committed will be out in the open. We may pray for the forgivness of sin after we are Christians as we are told to do in the scriptures. Have a wonderful day tomorrow and a glorious Memorial Day!
Thanks,
Eds

I think that's what they're after, and why the whole mess is so dangerous. Since you're absolved from a real world based morality, the standard you live up to is simply to acknowledge the confusion of mysticism. Any behavioral changes are due to the occupation of the victim's mind and peer pressure, not from real personal growth. Still contained within is pent up hurt and anger that could and does burst forth at any stressful moment. And whether violence or self-destruction, the acts don't diminish the victim's beliefs, and the cycle is easily repeated multiple times. To sum up, religion, like all defense mechanisms, including alcohol and drugs, prevents personal growth.

i'm on board with you employing the God reference. He replied your question easily with a No then proceeded to make it an argument approximately you. not in basic terms approximately you yet something that wasn't even in touch interior the communique. He deflected. i might have a not elementary time swallowing his obvious disdain on your ethical values. Does he think of your sexual orientation makes you a foul individual? If not then why did he throw that out at you? His call calling does point out he has issues to paintings on interior himself so he may be a extra helpful individual. Is he asserting you may desire to paintings on your sexual selection so as which you would be a extra helpful individual? in case you were a churchie he'd have probably taken your connection with Gods approval. because of the fact you're actually not a individual of religion your strategies have been written off as beside the point. How do you talk efficiently, you get some dating counseling so he learns to fee you as a individual.

"Christians -- do you think that because you are "saved", there are no consequences for your actions?" - Heck no - I'm more scared than other people - because if I screw up I'm lost, right? You can only go to the well so many times - right? So if I am saved now I have to be careful of my actions at all times, to be an example to others AND to protect my own soul. (Technically I'm Roman Catholic - but still Christian - just not born again type.) I'm always accountable for my actions. If I am good or bad I freely choose those actions - right? How can someone older than 13 (bar mitzvah) or 18, 21 not be accountable for their actions?

No, I believe there are definately consequences to everything I do. And, I am not saved unless I choose to live a good life. Just because I am Christian definately doesn't mean I am autimatically going to heaven. We are responsible for our actions because are responsible for asking for forgiveness. We can't just ask, we must truly want forgiveness.

That's what Martin Luther taught. He said that a man could commit adultery willfully and the blood of Christ (and saving faith) would be all that is necessary to wipe the slate clean.
Many Protestants are not aware of how radical Luther really was.........
Fortunately, most Chrisitan denominations don't teach that anymore, although they do think once saved always saved. Obviously, they think sin is bad and you must repent out of love for God, but they do not think there is any sin that can send a believer to Hell.
But the Bible says "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" and "he who endures until the end shall be saved."

no christian is automatically saved while on earth, we work out our salvation through God's grace until the end. I go to confession and my sins are removed. We must constantly repent of our sins to have a chance of being saved.
"My dear friends, you have always obeyed, not only when I was with you but even more now that I'm absent. In the same way continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling." Phillipians 2:12

god said to adam and eve, dont eat the apple from the tree; and what did they do? they ate. the bible says dont do this and do that, so what do we do? yep u guessed it. its what keeps this religion strong, playing on the idea of peoples sins and exploiting their fears of what will happen to them when they die. its good if it prevents people, but it doesnt prevent bad people doing bad things, it makes them go to church and believe they have been forgiven so they can go and do it again.
i also dont believe going to confession cleanses sins. actually, its what u do inside that makes a change, this is repenting. u dont repent just cos u go to church.

Simply asking for forgivness is not enough, you have to repent for your sins. I do not believe there is sin in Heaven, angels in Heaven are just not capable of sinning.
