It would be ok if you eat only 1,200 calories in order to lose weight.
The fastest you lose weight, the fastest you’ll get it back…you want to lose weight slowly and surely and forever.
You can eat whatever you want as long as the total is 1,200 calories (I drink 1% milk, just take 3 weeks for the taste buds to get used to it, then all the other milk have a weird taste).
If you get hungry, have a huge plate of steamed brocollis and it will fill up your stomach for only 80 calories…
You can even have a piece of chocolate if you want it…just bike for 5mn to make up for it.
As long as you do not go under 1,200 calories because then, as you must know, your body will think you cannot get food for whatever reason (some bandits stole your crops…) and switch into “starvation mode” in order to save your life and therefore, your metabolism will drastically slow down so you will even need less calories just to survive.
Also, of course, and as you say, you intend to exercise if you want to lose weight.
Basically, for an average woman (I’m an average woman…so I know), you need 1,200 calories a day to maintain your weight. Under that, you go into starvation mode which you want to avoid like the plague. So…1,200 calories will maintain your weight but it’s kinda hard since it’s not a lot so you can have like three 400 calories meals a day. It’s ok on a short term if you have enough willpower but it’s too hard just to live the rest of your life without any desert, treats, candies, cakes, chocolate and any fast food stuff like fries…
It is why a lot of sedentary women are so fat and surprised to be, just because they do not exercise but they eat more than 1,200 calories/day, they don’t use the part above 1,200 calories so it ends up on their hips and bellies.
Now, if you eat 1,200 calories and you exercise, you can lose weight as much as you exercise. Each pound of fat you need to lose is 3,500 calories. So if you eat 1,200 and you spend 1,200 just to survive, then you have to exercise for 3,500 calories to lose a pound…you have to walk 43 miles or bicycle 109 miles, just to give you an idea…
The best thing is to walk, do aerobics and weight training. If you build muscle, then your metabolism will go up and you will spend calories just to maintain those muscles, even when you’re sleeping.
If I’m active and have muscle, I can eat 1,600 calories/day without gaining weight (and 1,200 if I need to lose some).
Right now, I’m trying to replace 5 pounds of my fat by 5 pounds of muscle, because I need to be stronger and thinner but not necessary lighter (I’m 5’5” 120lbs). I’m exercising enough to spend 5,000/month so my goal is to replace 1 and a half pound of fat every month. But I’m going slowly because I’m in no hurry.
You say you need to lose weight fast…Do not lose more than 1 pound of fat a week. You can lose more weight but then it would be water…
After you lost the extra weight, keep exercising so you can eat more without worrying about gaining weight again.
And once you built all those muscles through exercise and you’re still active, you can eat whatever you want…

there are much more things you can eat and which are really healthy (e.g. brown adn wild rice, cottage cheese, grilled chicken breast, yogurts etc)
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

it depends on your height and current weight. if your mission is to do this only short term, that would probably be ok, however, you can't maintain this long term. that's why diets usually don't work. people can't keep up the rigor of strict caloric reduction. it would be better if you ate more well-rounded low carb meals for a couple of weeks, but if you are driven to do this, just do it for 2 weeks, and start eating better. if you haven't been exercising 5 times a week, now is no time to start...start with 3 times per week, and work your way up.

While it may help you lose weight to start out with, it would be very hard to maintain that diet for long. You should think about making healthy changes to your diet that you can continue with for life.
