.... you are with your in-laws and they say something hurtful or cunning to you, to corner or embarras you and you feel wierd ?
How do you react, at that time.
I`m very respectful to my parents- and siblings-in-law, as they are all older than mw .... but then hurtful things happen and I`m all hurt and feeling bad ... and remain silent ... but the situation never changes as they keep acting that way .... whats the best way to act in this situation ?

I tell my in-laws, when they have overstepped themselves, that I don't remember the part in the wedding ceremony where I signed up to be their punching bag.

Also, after telling my hubby that he needs to stand up for me (most men don't know they are supposed to do this), he tells them that they had better respect me or they just won't see us. It works, but they do have to be reminded from time to time.

Have you trained your hubby to stand up for you yet? If not, get started. If he won't stand up for you, you've got worse problems than mean in-laws.

I get "stoned" and feel lack of words, because I was raised with manners. I also feel owkward because I want to say something nice that would make the situation more relaxed, but instead I feel so angry that I could punch them. So...
one day I left, but before that I said to them all the things they did not want to hear...
But I remeber that I said some of "the good stuff" (for my soul :-) ). Momental crative sparks, that's all it reduces to...
