I was reading about bi-polarness online, it says if your sibling is bipolar u have a 50/50 chance of becoming bipolar too, my brother is bipolar but hes my HALF brother we have different moms, so does that CUT my chances?

ALSO do u BECOME bi-polar or Are u BORN Bi-polar?

No this is not something you aquire though it can go undetected for many years until something happens in your life that causes you to break down and usually that is when it rears it head. It depends on who's side of the family it is on. If it is your Dad's side that you share then it will be 50% and if it is his Mother's side than you shouldn't worry.

First of all, you are BORN bipolar because it is inherited from your parents. Since your HALF-brother is bipolar, he got the gene from his mother. You could get it ONLY if your FATHER had it as well (I am assuming you both have the same father???). If your Father and Mother are BOTH okay, you would NOT get it. Technically, you and a half-sibling are not FULL-BLOOD relatives. If in doubt, ask your parents to be tested (a simple blood test) for it.

You don't become bi-polar, maybe bi-sexual, but not bi-polar.
