is the bible really the words of GOD?if it is ,how come there r many editions and contradiction?

bible has many editions..each one is different from the other..and there r many contradiction..somt times things just doesn't make sense.........
while the Quran has been there for like 1400 years and no one could mess it up or change a thing about it..all the copies since the first one all identical..and it really feels like the words of GOD..............!

The Bible is the Holy Word of God. There are many editions (in other words, printings) because of demand. There are no contradictions, but people who don't understand the meanings of the scriptures get confused easily and think there are. If by editions you mean translations, then you must realize that the original text must be translated into other languages for people around the world. There are updated translations within a language because meanings of words change from one generation to the next. For example in English the word "gay" meant happy or joyful back in the 40's but means something entirely different today.

Yes the Bible is the Word of God. There are multiple editions because different scholars have translated the non-English text of the original Bible in different ways, but generally the various editions have the same basic meanings, just worded differently. Also, the Quran certainly could be messed up if someone mistranslated it from Arabic, and the Muslims don't even believe that translations are the true word of God.

e.g. - the Greek word Baptismo- means immersion - BUT
King James' church of England sprinkled the candidate with water by a rose dipped in the bowl - so as not to lose their HEADS - the translators transliterated the word to baptize - instead of immerse

I do not know any contradictions in the Holy Bible - and I have read it through twice, studying it.

You can rest most assured that the Bible is truly the Word of God. Even though there may be many different versions which mankind has produced, I feel that it has been for the most part to make the interpretation of the Word of God easier for mankind. Yet we must realize that unless we have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, and have been filled with his Holy Spirit, the Word of God will not always be easy for us to understand. This is because many people attempt to interpret the Word of God by their own efforts, and try and do so through our own human wisdom; when it takes the Spirit of God within us to open up our minds to see the truths of the Word of God. By this I mean, that many times the Holy Spirit must open our spiritual eyes to see what God truly wants to show us in his Word. Many times we try and study the Word of God, but we do not first seek or ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in our studies. I have seem many valuable truths in the Word of God, that I could not of ever been able to see, or to get the real meaning of, without the help of the Holy Spirit. If a version of the Bible is truly inspired by God, then it will never contradict the original Words of God; which in my own personal opinion, is the King James Version of the Bible.

Over time, the standards of human behavior have changed. Perhaps the story of Abraham and Isaac explains the end of human sacrifice in that culture. The book of Joshua describes a time when conquest and genocide were accepted and encouraged. The God of the old testament gets angry, throws temper tantrums and causes massive destruction. The God of the new testament is loving, forgiving and above all of that.
In a way it resembles the way young children see their parents. A three-year old sees adults differently from the way a five-year old would. The parents have not changed all that much, only the childs view of them.
In the past few centuries, our culture has outgrown slavery. Perhaps someday soon, we can outgrow war.

The Bible wasn't originally written in English so there are different translations. They all say the same thing the just use different words and with different version some have explanations some have Jesus's words in red. But they all say the same thing. Also the Quran has to be read in the language it was originally written in, I am not sure what language that is but they haven't translated it into English.
