i got a bug bite yesterday night, it itched really bad and i scratched it a ton, and now today there are two reddish pink lines coming off of it (and the bite is pretty big). But how do i tell if its blood poisoning or just lines from me scratching it so much?

It's definitely you scratching too much. Take benadryl 25 mg (one tablet) every 4-6 hours to help with the itching. Caladryl or cortisone cream will help too. If the 25mg of benadryl doesn't help, you can double it to 50mg but not more than that. You don't get blood poisioning from a bug bite.

It defenetly sounds like you were just itching it too much. If its a pretty big bug bite than maybe your allergic to the type of bug that it was. I am allergic to some bugs too, for instince if i get bit by a mosquito on my hand a bump will apear the size of my fisty. But every time you scratch it it moves the poisen which make it itch so i suggest you dont itch it. I have absolulty no idea if this works but my brother puts ice when he gets bit and appparently it doenst itch anymore.

sounds more like cellulitis... scratching is the worst thing you can do, so much bacteria under your nails. see link below

blood poisoning will be in your bloodsteam. the lines will travel up the vein.
