i know 12 bar I IV V progressions and quick change 12 bar blues ,but what are some good jazz progressions and how many bars of each chord type do you play them for (ie: in 12 bars the i chord is for 4 bars iv for 2, etc) hopefully i didnt make thi s too confusing to understand. thanks

I enjoy the beauty of major 7ths coupled with minor 6ths with a quick hit of the ninth thrown in. No chord can surpass a Cmaj7 for starting and ending and then throwing in Gm6, Cm6 add 9, and even some diminished 7ths, allowing the little finger to extract an immediate 6th or 9th note.

I say experiment with any and all.
