For the past 3 years, every year on memorial day, we go to my great grandparents grave and bring them new flowers (fake of course) and every year when we get there, the flower, the styrofoam, and the pot are all gone!!!!!!!!! it started with just the pot but now their taking everything.
im looking for a quote of some kind to put in the flowers to make the theives think twice before they take them this year.

The cemetary is about an hour away so we don't have time to plant real flowers and go there and take care of them. at this cemetary, if you just put something on the ground by the grave, they move it but if you have a put holder (like most of the graves do) they can't take your put or flowers.

"This is poison ivy." Then sprinkle a little itching powder (available at novelty shops) all over the whole thing after you set it in place.

Every year we plant flowers on our grandparents grave. you should do that it's takes..what 10 mins to plant a flower and water it? otherwise you should report the theft and jsut put on the pot . "Although you take what we have left our memories and love for them will be there always.....or write the names of your grandparents FULL names. You cant pass it off as your own if it has soemone elses name on it

I don't really have a quote for you, but in a lot of cemeteries, you aren't allowed to bring in fake flowers, styrofoam, etc. They expect that you will take the time to bring REAL flowers. And they enforce it by removing the fake flowers.
I don't like fake flowers anywhere, and especially in the cemetery. You are honoring those who have gone before.

It is best not to put your flowers of respect on the graves anymore. People steal them or the lawn maintenance discards them.
If you want to pay your respects to your loved one that passed, place a picture of them on your home altar with a beautiful vase of fresh cut flowers. Light a white candle on a holder, place it beside the picture, and light a stick of incense to show your thoughts.
It's more personal way.

May the bearer of these Funeral Flowers be in MORE need of them than the rightful owners who shall see you on the other side.

Consider this an aside:
Would you want someone to put artificial flowers stuck in Styrofoam on your final resting place?
(I, for one, would not!)

If you take these flowers and pot, remember the scripture, "thou shalt not steal", before you go to sleep.
