I was never able to carry a baby to term (that's not the good thing), and my husband has had a really hard time dealing with it and accepting that that's just not the way it's going to happen for us.
But I think he's warming up to the idea of adopting from foster care. I'm a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer, and I know that there are so many kids in the system who need homes.
Jim is in his late forties, I'm in my late thirties, so we talked about adoping a children in their late teens who are about to be "too old" to be adopted. I think it's sad that they are just booted out of the child welfare system without any sort of family to call their own. He's not really warmed up to that yet, but he wants to adopt siblings even if we don't get a baby. We certainly wouldn't turn a baby down, but that used to be the deal-breaker for him, and he's changed his mind about that.
I still want to finish school. And that's a really great thing in my life. But I love that having a family is in the works as well.

I am able to provide for my family better than I ever used to be able to. That is what is best right now. I can pay the bills and live comfortably.
I have a great job and good people to work with.
My kids are good kids, not getting into trouble like so many teens do. My oldest is going to college on an academic scholarship full-time and works full-time and just moved into his own apartment. My younger two are busy with school and sports and doing well at them. I am thankful they are good kids.

I don't have a best thing. My world as I knew it less than 2 years ago has been slowly taken from me. It's nothing now. I have animals and a guy, but like the song says, nothing else matters.

that even though my life is getting crazy and stressed out to the point where I just want to hide underneath the covers and not come out - I can always talk and pray to God about it. And somehow feel better. AND the fact that I can talk to my step mom and she listens and doesn't judge and she really offers good advice.

My youngest child is out of a high school that she has detested all semester. both my girls are now in college, have not been in any trouble and seem very stable.
Oh yeah and I am not scared of God and going to hell and all that any more since I came to the conclusion that neither exists
