trusted friend abused me and then said i deserved it now whenever i see the person rubs it in and says i hope you dont kill yourself 'smugly', you deserved it and things like that. I feel like i dont know what to do at times, like i get these visions of just me jumping off a building and the pain going away, when im alone i curl into a fetal position, i have tried hugs, close people but it dosent take the feeling of being violated away, i dont know what to do, do you know why the feeling wont go away? how long does it take after you have been abused

You are suffering from post trauma stress disorder and depression and anger are part of that response. It is vital that you seek professional counseling. And if you have not talk to the police, you should, press charges. The jerk has taken control of your life, both for the abuse and instilling in your even the slightest thought that you "deserved it." NO one, and I mean NO one, deserves to be assaulted or abused.

If you let him get away with it he will do it to someone else. Call the police or a local rape crisis center tonight.

I volunteer at a rape crisis center and have spoke to many people that have been in your position. I would go speak to the police. If you have the clothes you were wearing at the time put them in a paper (not plastic) bag. I don't know how long ago it happened and the police might not be able to do anything, statute of limitation, but there might be other victims. If there is another case either now or in the future you might be able to put the bastard in prison!!!! I would also see a doctor. Sadly he may have given you a STD. I would also get a restraining order if he continues to harass you. This is in no way going to be easy. Going through this can sometimes be as bad the attack. I would also tell s friend or family member. Someone you can trust. When something like this happens you need all the help you can get.

If you need someone that knows about this kind of thing, email me. You will be in my thoughts

Yes, it's a normal feeling. Will the feeling go away--probably not. It may lessen but you need help coping with the fact of the abuse. Find a counselor and talk with them.
And, the abuser belongs in jail. So contact the police or authorities and let them deal with it. That will help you too.

You may need to be hospitalized if you feel suicidal. It may take a while, and definitely counseling and possibly medications would be recommended as well. Also, if the person that abused you has not been prosecuted, you need to call the police. It is not revenge, but you may be protecting someone else that this person comes in contact with in the future.

It'll be hard for a while. An abuser wants to make you feel as though you are not worth anything and the way you feel is all because of them. Know that things will get better...but it is going to be hard dealing with the emotional damage left behind. Please try to talk to someone about this. It'll help you deal and feel better sooner. Good luck!

Get strong. You are better than that person. Don't do anything crazy. You don't know what comes after death. Get some counseling. It is not your fault. It is his or her fault. Don't let them bring you down on their level. You are better than that. The pain will go away. I promise. If you need to e-mail me you can.

You need to stop seeing that person! No one deserves that kind of treatment. Don't be so thin skinned, bounce back and then go kick their a**!
