Please allow me to insert a quote, if I may, from a book that I am currently reading. It is directly relevant to the question:
"Here you have a huge majority of 850 million people, part of a culture, which is thousands years old. A culture which has proved over the ages its infinite tolerance towards other creeds and religions, giving refuge to all persecuted minorities in the world, whether parsis, syrian christians, jews, or Tibetans today. Yet hindu-bashing has become a favourite pastime of the press, both Indian and foreign - and when you find someone such as Murli Manhohar Joshi who wants to Indianize Indian education, as aspiration which would be found natural in any country, he is run down by his own people. Thus one finds that Hindus are self-deprecating, tend to lack self-confidence and they never raise their voices in protest against the discrimination which is practiced against them. In short, you have a huge physical majority in moral minority. Is it because they are cowards?"

Cowardice is in the blood of a hindu, what else do u expect from people with a culture of rape. Women are the only ones that Hindu men can overpower. Muslims defeated hindus and and ruled over them for 1000 years when they were vastly outnumbered. Pakistan a country 1/10th of the size of India, defeated India in 3 wars.

Hindus are humans too. All humans have a breaking point. When that broken no matter what pain inflictor is dead.
Having tolerence is Good. But is it required for mad people?
People insult eachother whats the gain in it?
Tolerent person gives plenty of chances. If nothing is possible and pain inflictor is still hurting then the torturers will be killed.
Having higher tolerance is not wekness its a power it is last chance for those inflictors to reflect and think about their act.
Just read about Anihilation of Sisupala by Krishna.

In past, present and future whenever we talk about bravery, daring and country worship then always we remember some name like Maharana Pratap, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Shivaji, Sambhaji, Prithviraj Chauhan, Bajirao and many more. All are Hindus and Sikhs.
We don't need any certificate for proof out bravery.

Neither tolerant not cowards. Just indifferent to whats happeing.
Muslims are crazy and idiots, they riot to show off, just to make everywhere aware that they exist, by taking such opportunities.
Hindus are aware that whatever may happen, the hindu community cannot be destroyed, so don't need such crazy show off's

First of all Hinduism is not a religion in the sense it is used in modern days. In fact there are no records at all to subscribe to such a name in ancient Indian History.
India(Bhaarat) from time immemorial followed a type of principles in their personal life as well as in their statecraft called Sanatana Dharma. This emphasised every one to follow a strictly secular life, wherein every one was tolerant towards the others' beliefs. This kind of tolerance practiced for tens of thousands of years by the natives of India(Bhaarat),
allowed every conqurer of the nation to practice and spread their own beliefs, howsoever different they were from the natives. This kind of tolerance and comraderie was quite unknown to the rest of the world, who were all through brought up in an atmosphere of hatred and violence to wage wars between themselves. This wonder of friendly invitation and tolerance to practice their own religions gave the new entrants ample freedom not only to practice but also to propagate and spread their beliefs in any manner they thought fit.
Therefore this ingrained quality of peaceful approach to every problem, no matter how painful it is and coupled with the sense of tolerance in them, not only became a fertile ground for all other religions but also gave a mistaken impression that Indians are cowards. But this is not true.
This does not reflect the cowardice of the Hindus but on the contrary a high standard of culture and principles being adopted by them from generation to generation.Several incidents have happened in the past centuries wherein the Hindu beliefs were either ridiculed or condemned by others, but none were retaliated with vengence or violence.
In fact this is a marvellous quality to be praised and not to be worried or condemned. It is time the rest of the world had taken note of these excellent qualities of the Indians and imbibed.
At a time when the whole world is riddled with mutual hatred and violence, do you not think that the quality of the Indians in extending the olive branches in all confrontations, is a matter to be praised.
The Hindu Philosophy in reality believes that every soul is Brahman(God). That God resides in every creation of the universe. That every thing occurs as per His wishes. Therefore nothing can destroy the noble principles of Hinduism. It has withstood several thousands of years of severe tests and tribulations, and remaining still strong.
I feel that you may remain unperturbed by all these passing incidents.

Hinduism makes one more introspective. Once you begin to take inward journey, many things appear futile. This makes Hindus more tolerant as they find foolishness in many acts that provoke others. God resides within us. This is more deeply ingrained in Hindus than others. Worshipping of gods and goddesses gives them a diversification and they do not clutter around a place to focus on one. They have their istadevatas. Even if they do aggregate at one place, their mode of worship is largely to obtain moksha. Hindus like seclusion rather than herding.
Hindus are tolerant to the extent to being branded as cowards.

It sucks to know that hindus dont react as much as they should.
However, if you take out reaction of other faiths from issue, the hindus are pretty good at what they are doing. There is no reason for muslims to react so much to naked mohammed. They always over react.
I think hindus are more of practical than any other faith. Naked hindu gods should be severly condemned but roiting is not the answer. If every hindu condemns it, its more civilised way of doing. Anyways, hindus are more courageous than any other religion, becuase they dont go in groups, and they need real courage to stand, because they believe themselves, and ready to sacrifice for truth not for heavenly pleasures. People who fear god have nothing of their own, even character. ( no offence, its my personal opinion.)

I have never met a Hindu who attempted to proselytise me, or said something bad would happen to me if I didn't follow their religion. I can't say the same about Muslims nor Christians.
Conducting oneself with self-responsibility is not an act of cowardice. Being incapable of accepting the fact that not everybody will have the same religion as you, IS.

Hindus are practicing cowardice in the name of tolerance.
many centuries of slavery of muslims and christians has really polluted hindu society. The degradation was mainly due to :-
=> burning of sacred scriptures by muslim invaders hence each one writing his own definition of hinduism
=> mispropaganda by muslim &christian rulers to lure hindus to their faith....they succeded to a great extent
=> Giving money and prizes to those hindus who abused other hindus or helped in spreading hatered against hinduism in the name of casteism etc.
=> Survival made hindus to either keep quiet...or support the tyrannts...and this has entered deep into the psyche of hindus.
=> Buddhism gave a basis to hindus to be non-violent...hence all attacks started after advent of buddhism
Now with education and economic growth this thing will slowly change....and it may take many years still.
Some hindus are waking up and protesting...but they are rebuked by even hindus besides by pseudo secular idiots.
Wait and watch.... i do not see a very promising future for hinduism...but Kalki Avatar has to come... and his arrival needs such situations
