I got into a little fender bender early this morning while I was parked in a Subway. We called the police and when the officer arrived, there came out of a beautiful mid-20's police officer, highly attractive. I mean an attractive cop, so I was automatically drawn.

I was eye-ing her while she pulled up and she noticed me checking her out while she was coming to. As soon as she steps out, I make a joke if she was there for the accident or to get a sandwich (cops come to this shop all the time at 3AM). She gives me a laugh and smiles as I tell her what happened.

She does the whole report deal. I even manage to get her on video and she jokingly says put the camera away. She then casually asks for my phone number and she writes it on a pad. I ask her for HER phone number and she says, "yea, you'll get it." She leaves a business card with her badge number. Contacting her is not a problem, as I have all the info I need. She didn't give me her PERSONAL number though.

Should I go for it?

Ok, I should've been more detailed, but I can only write so much. During the whole incident, she was VERY professional and handled the situation as best any other officer could have. No doubt she did her job to the fullest.

As far as the little laugh she let out when I popped the joke, it was very brief. This sort of 'buttered' her up for what I did later on. During the time I spoke to her, I would gaze into her eyes slightly longer than normal, to show my interest (yes guys, it works). And she picked up on it. Later on I took a video of THE SCENE and pointed the camera directly at her to get her in the video more discreetly. I then asked for her number. Keep in mind that this was when the other driver involved was in HIS car and could not hear or see us. When she got my digits, I was ready to take off in my car. And it was the last thing she had asked for.

I'm not sure if she was actually interested, or if your ego is just playing tricks on you. She may have been getting your phone number for the report (it's required, you know). Police often give out business cards at the scene of accidents or other calls, so don't read too much into that either. Her smiling and laughing could have been flirting or courteousness. She may be interested, but don't be surprised if she isn't. If she is as attractive as you say, you can bet a lot of guys hit on her. She may have become used to it and has fun playing guys along.

Hate to break this to ya.... you have a better shot of seeing satan dancing in the snow than getting a date with her. She was being very professional, and laughed just to keep the situation in her control. She probably asked for your number for purposes of the report, and if she gave you her work number, trust me that goes nowhere. Cops, esp female cops see (and no offense, i mean this as a general term) jokers everyday. Doesn't sound like you impressed her, it takes a lot to impress a female cop.

Your question can be reduced to: "I met a girl, will she go out with me?" The answer in all cases is, WE DON'T KNOW. Asking for your phone number doesn't say much. She probably included it in her official report. She was not arresting you, or using her position to coerce you, so I doubt their is any ethical problem with her dating you. You could always ask the department to let her know you would like her to contact you. If she responds, you can find out the same way anyone else finds out if a girl is interested.

Nope. If she is flirting with you...who else is she flirting with on the subsequent incident. this is very unprofessional and unacceptable habit for a police officer (jointly as on accountability) If the placement have been reversed, a male officer could be explaining his strikes, suspended or asked to renounce for such habit if undertaking escalated to that factor. Her interest ought to have been concentrated on the incident and ensuring she is documenting the accident thoroughly and correctly.

Yeah...just go for it.

Just because she has a career as a police officer doesn't mean she doesn't have personal life. I think this happens on a daily basis on everybody regardless of whether they are cops or not. Good luck!

Dont' call her at the PD and leave a message. If she wants anything to do with you, she'll call you.

She took your number becasue its needed to fill out the accident report.

Of course officers are just people, they often date people they meet on calls.
