It has different effects on different people. Most people I know gained weight on Lexapro or stayed the same but I'm one of the people who lost weight. I eat the same amount of food though. I've lost over 12 lbs in the past 6 months but I summed it up to the fact that I am WAY more active because I'm not sitting at home depressed all the time. If it's a problem for you, talk to your doctor. I didn't mind losing the 12 lbs but I don't want to lose much more...

I was on Lexapro and it was a bad mistake, because it altered my judgment!! I did things that I normally wouldn't do and I could not discern the good from the bad people or things....

To answer your question, I was skinny when I began taking Lexapro, then I packed on 25 POUNDS!! I had the ugliest stretch marks, my stomach was huge, I didn't feel so sexy anymore!!

Lexapro is actually bad for you. Try Fish Oil--when this Lexapro phase is over!! It actually burns fat and builds fat around the brain to protect it from depression... Its not chemically processed either. It is healthier for you! But don't abruptly quit your meds either.....You're probably on it for about a year I'm guessing? After its all over, you can decide whether you want an alternative...

I gained 15 pounds when put on Lexapro and my appetite changed greatly. So perhaps it was a weird reaction like someone said before but you've gotten lucky.

you should talk to your doctor about putting you on an antidepressant that does not have a weight gain side effect.

it shouldn't; you may just be having a reaction. has your lifestyle changed?(i.e. exercising more; stress)
