Blue,

There is a simple answer to losing weight: expend more calories than you take in. Daily.

The simplest technique is to walk at least twenty minutes after every meal. That is, ten minutes from your doorstep, then, then minutes back. Walk at your own pace. There is no need to speed-walk, run, etc.

Why does it work? Your body stores sugars for the use of the muscles in basically, two places. The first is for quick use of the muscle groups, right in the muscle. As that is depleted, your body will convert fat to sugars, and send those to the bloodstream for distribution to the muscles.

If you exercise too quickly (i.e., for less than twenty minutes), your body will simply replace that used from the muscle groups, and then look to replenish the fat at your next dining event. The *average* for humans is fifteen minutes. So, the strategy is to exceed that fifteen minutes, in order to force the body to give up fat. The distance is not important; the sustained time of exercise is the important thing.

Have faith and try it for thirty days. I'll guarantee that those twenty-minute walks will have your clothes "fitting better" at the end of the month.

A whole month??? Yes, you put that weight on a half-gram at a time, over many months. It will take some time to convince your body not to store so much.

By the second month, you will see the difference in the mirror. From that point, join a gym and do something more. Your choice: aerobics, weight-lifting, swimming, etc. Whatever you enjoy, as long as your body breaks a sweat. But, keep up the twenty-minute after-eating walks.

Regards,

Gaucho

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

lol, its weird. i have the same problem. sadly, no fad diets work, but old-fasioned diets do. i lost 15 in 3 weeks by eating smaller portions, taking up swimming, and walking a mile to a mile in a half a day. my problem is i dont eat fruits or vegetables so my healthy snacks are yogurt, 100 calorie packs, granola bars, sweeties, or even a scrambled egg. but im still losing weight. and as long as i keep up my cycle i'll keep losing until my weight steadies off. best of luck

I read and have seen results from walking. A nice brisk arm swinging walk.

Evaluate your happiness level.

I exercise to the Wiggles. The do dance moves and they have a cheer me up effect even on the worst days. My favorite CD is Wiggly Wiggly World. My daughter watches and I have her do some of the movement she is capable of doing. Its fun for both of us and cheers us up.

Also Eat yogurt for breakfast. nice filing solid meal in between. Salad for super. Experiment with ways to use minimal salad dressing.

Lots of liquids. A gallon a day.

Always keep low cal snacks in your desk, purse, car so your not tempted to go to Mac or other fast food places.
Saltines
Peanuts
sunflower seeds
rice cakes
chocolate chips
beef sticks
cheese crackers
fruit cup
carrots
celery
most fruits apples eat 2 a day if you can.
broccoli
cauliflower.

The main thing is you have them prepared and ready to eat. Avoid eating for just to be eating train your body to wait till a hunger pain and appease the hunger quickly with a healthy snack or 1 of your 3 meals.

Reward your self by going and getting the thing that you missed the most during this month and pig out.

I would estimate a loss of 40 1bis.

Let me know if this works for you.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!
