he's always tossing off at night so I started telling him he'll go to hell and burn for all eternity if he carries on.

My wife says its cruel to tell him that and instead we should tell him he'll just go blind instead.

Who's right my wife or I?

I think you are both very wrong!!!! My not just talk to him like a person and explain that what he is doing is fun but it isnt somthing that he should be doing. I dont think you should have to lie or scare your children into doing something

First of all, why would both of you lie to your son?! I don't know how old you son is, but why would you both say such cruel things to him? That's the pot calling the kettle black! And, can YOU honestly say you didn't do the same thing when you were young! I think you both should leave him alone & don't draw attention to it. That's certainly isn't making matters any better. Did you ever hear of getting more responce from anyone by treating a situation w/kindness & respect instead of lying about it. I think you both should get your priorities straight & deal w/the important things in life. If you believe what you said, I think you'd better take a closer look at the Bible. The wife should get some serious lessons in sex education if she believes that. Be TRUTHFUL...

You are both very wrong. You need to explain what is going on to the child. It is time for the birds and bees talk but telling him he will go blind or go to hell is not right and when he finds out it is not true he will just think that you lied to him and he will loose trust. Do not lie. Give the boy honest information and let nature take its course. We all did and do it so why get so uptight about something so natural. Explain whatever reasons you have against this and then leave it alone. you can do more harm than good with the tactics you are using.

Why in the world would you tell your son such a ridiculous thing?!!? He may develop other things but he will not go to hell otherwise the rest of us will be there too, men and women!! How old is he? Do you know why he started to do this? Explain to him what sex is and how it should work. If he must do what he does tell him not to over do it, it's not healthy. Let him know that love is not only about sex, but it's a caring, warm, tender, and enduring experience. He should not confuse one thing with the other. He has crossed that bridge and there is no turning back so give him some guidance and stop trying to be so self-righteous, you give Christians a bad name! Good Luck

Kids will learn it somewhere. Home, School, Church, Peers, Groups, media. It is all around you. IT IS TRUE that a man puts his penis in a woman's vagina. At least he wasn't telling a lie. I would caution however that maybe he should have consulted the parents before he brought up that topic in Sunday School. The kid obviously didn't know what sex was so he was curious to know. Well he got his answer and You went ballistic? How hypocritical. I learned sex ed when I was 10. I got my period then as well. It helped me because I wouldn't have known what it was otherwise, learning it in school. My parents sure didn't say NOTHING about it. You can't shield her forever you know. Your daughter is going to ask you how you made her HOW are you going to respond? Ohhh mommy and daddy love each other very much? Best to get her educated, at least.

You weren't his age once? You both need to quit telling him theses kinds of lives. It's just not right. You could ask him, privately, to be a little more discreet if he's making noise or something. If he doesn't get some kind of release, he'll pop a cork. Would you rather he get a girl pregnant? Cut the kid some slack. He's likely embarrassed about the whole topic. Have a heart here.

You're both wrong ! It's perfectly normal for a boy to experiment. Little girls likely try it too. It's just their way of sort of discovering their sexuality. But, you two need to get your act together and explain the facts of life to your son, before some body with a warped view of it tells him a bunch of garbage, because you guys didn't deal with it now ! If you want him to grow up as a normal boy, interested in girls, you had best lose the " going to hell" and "going blind" bit and tell him the truth about sex, and its proper use, like one man & one woman for life, like the good Lord intended.

Actually it is OK if he Master bates at least once a month my teacher said it can prevent prostate and a disease called Popes disease because popes don't you know what or master bate so tell him the truth and if that does not work tell him that he will go blind because going to hell is a little too cruel. Tell him also he can't have children when he grows older.

Well, depending on the age of your son, do you really think he'll fall for either anyway? It's actually normal to masturbate. Some people do it more than others. Don't scare your kid. If it really concerns you that much, maybe you should sit down and talk to him and ask him why he feels the need to do it as often as he does. If you can't come to any conclusions, try therapy.
And, i'm sorry to say, i actually think you're both wrong.

U are a prude to even mention it. What u want him to do...go out and get a girl pregnant.

Sorry but u are really dumb.

Every frggin teen in the world masterbates man. Any that say they don't are liars. So just go with the flow man.

And even if I believed there was a hell (which I don't), that's even a dumber thing to say to a kid who probably knows it's bullcrap anyhow. Trust me, if the kid is over 10yo he knows all that stuff is bullcrap.

So just let the kid alone...he's fully normal as he is.

LISTEN. THE BOY WON'T GO BLIND, AND HE WON'T GO TO HELL EITHER. YOU MIGHT TEACH HIM TO BE ALITTLE MORE DISCRETE, SO THAT NOT EVERYBODY IN THE HOUSE IS AWARE OF WHAT HE'S DOING. FACTOID: MASTERBATION IS A NORMAL PROCESS OF GROWING UP THROUGH PUBERTY. IT'S A LOT LIKE FARTING, NO ONE LIKES TO FART, BUT IF YOU DON'T THEN YOU'LD JUST BLOWUP & EXPLODE. THE EXCRETION OF BUILT UP SEMEN IS THE SAME WAY. IF YOU DON'T MILK IT, IT'LL FILL UP UNTIL YOU HAVE A WET DREAM 7 THEN YOU MAKE A MESS ALL OVER YOUR BED CLOTHES. PARENTS, GROW UP, & BE FOR REAL WITH YOUR CHILD WHILE YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO BER A POSITIVE INFLUENCE IN HIS LIFE. TRUST ME, IF ALL YOU DO IS LIE TO HIM, HE'LL RESENT YOU FOR IT WHEN HIS MIND CLEARS ON THE TRUTH. DON'T BE AFFRAID TO TALK ADULT TO HIM. IF YOU DON'T, THE GUY'S DOWN TOWN AT THE LOCAL BAR WILL!!!
