find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

As a new mom, I'm sure you find it hard to get up the energy to cook your own food. This is the best thing that you can do for you. My fiancé and I are both well over weight and I am working hard to get us in better shape for our health. In the past month, I have consentrated on just cooking all of our meals with fresh ingreedients, less salt and oil. We both walk the dog 3 times a day for 20-45 min. I don't know how much he has lost, but I have lost 20 lbs in the past month, which is very good and healthy.

Eat less, exercise more. There is no other way.
But, I think you have stopped losing weight because you probably do the same amount of exercise each time.
The human body is very adaptive.
To keep losing weight, you MUST increase the duration and intensity of your workouts every time.
It does not have to be very much. But unless you do, you will reach a 'plateau' where you stop progressing.

Once on a diet always on a diet. You can set small goals. Cut out the candy, pop, and drink water. You can eat small meals instead of large ones. Don't go buy all these books for how to be on a diet. Oh yeah, do some sweating. It doen't matter if you are outside doing yard work or inside working out or dancing around, SWEAT.

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

I would say do not diet, I am losing just by eating smaller portions. Read portion sizes, and then eat what you like, as long as its healthy. After you reduce your portion sizes you really get used to it. When we lived in Europe their sizes are about half ours. I was too embarassed to ask for 2'nds, nobody does there, and they have no all you can eat buffets. Every thin friend of mine eats what she likes, but it would be a moderate slice of cake, with coffee, etc. Never fast food or even Subway. Normal tuna sandwich, small salad, iced tea , [artificial sweetener], should be sufficient for lunch. Walk baby in her stroller, I always did that.

It's simple.
Try to decrease the amounts of starches you eat. Focus more on lean protien. If you drink any sugary drinks then eliminate them all together. Start using sweetners and allow yourself to get used to the taste of them.
Try to devote 30 minutes to being active daily. You could take your daughter for a walk or try to fit in a morning routine.
Losing weight isn't all about calories. It is the TYPE of foods you consume. Stick to protein and fiber and you'll lose weight.

There is no secret, or special diet out there. none of them work.
The simple answer is to eat less and exercise more. That's it.
Eat less, and exercise more. Make it a part of your routine and make it something you do all the time, not just as a diet that you plan to stick to for a month or two.
