There is a saying.

In Asia they treat their people like dogs and their dogs like dirt. It is just a very different way of life, that does not make it right or wrong though.

Nonethless Animal Rights groups are already and have been working on protesting the 2008 games... the protests will occur, but it will not change the location of the games or stop them.

I will add though that the AR people (i am not pro-animal rights) are protesting for more reasons that just the cats and dogs. The animal trade over there is extremely bad and poaching and abuse takes place daily with both domestic animals as well as exotics.

I've seen that video; it's so sad!

Maybe some people will (possibly a lot, depending on the publicity the issue gets) but I doubt that they will stop the show altogether. Too many people would rather watch the show than worry about the cats and dogs.

No they will not be boycotted, because they will be serving cats and dogs to the Olympic village.

Probably not.

But a legitimate reason just may be that it happens to be the proven site of the outbreak of the bird flu!
