I was at the building supply place today and they have some cute shapes for walking stones, but couldn't one easily make a form and then pour in cement and add stones ?

You bet! There are forms that you can buy at craft stores like Michaels, or you can just grab some bendy-board and wing it. Either way, you're off to a great start! Remember to let it harden for 24 hours before you pop it out of its mold.

Oh yes you can do your own....make your forms from 2X4's..I was very lucky to have found a piece of plexy that was 4" wide and made a circle...Buy the ready mix cement ..I have 36 of these and of coure I did the gravel befor the cement set to print out our last name ....oone letter to each stone...I also mixed a squirt of dish washing liquid into my cement mixture....works great...
