and even if you had friends of more than one race. Would you arm your self and hope to not have to use force, or, if your friends of different races where involved in it, use force without waiting to see what happens when anyone not of your race came around and looked menicing?
You may laugh at this question, but think, all it would take is a few incidents to happen and with the news carryihng everything and making it seem more and worse than it is, COULD happen. Look at Rodney King... and others since then..
No One likes Racism, but, it is a fact that it is there and something like this can happen in a flash that would make people do things they would never think they would do...

I am already armed, and yes if it were a very serious situation, I would be very careful and defensive if an UNKNOWN member of another race was coming around and it looked suspicious. It's absolutely not racism, it's common sense.
There is no need to act stupid just to pretend that it is racism to racially profile in certain situations.
And if you think that what I describe above is racism, then every single human being is a racist, and the definition of racism needs to be revised.

Unfortunately, you have also attempted to answer your own question, thereby making this a multi- part discussion.
In your last paragraph you state "no one likes racism".
In my experience, I have seen and met people that thrive on racism, and in their own communities they could carry enough weight to incite violence. Fortunately, and because of the Rodney King incident, many of the same people that might have been involved in a race war have learned that the destruction incurred would be limited to only their own communities.
Ok... let's assume that the initial violence has now escalated to many regions and there has been a total breakdown of governmental powers and protections. If the media is still able to report and people are still able to watch it is only natural that individuals will begin to go on the defense. In other words the need for self-protection begins to kick in. It then becomes not a race war but a battle for individual survival...trust noone!
Now we have moved from "race war" to anarchy and in that type of a scenario people of all colors begin to seek the acceptance of anyone of similar circumstance so as to find protection.
What I am attempting to illustrate is that a race war in this country would be short lived, isolated and it wouldn't take very long for people of all colors to realize the negative impacts and attempt to isolate the instigators.
As for myself: "It is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it".

This has already happened in the 60s. People who were friends stayed friends but stayed away from each other for awhile to protect each other. Black antagonists were bussed in to specific towns and started trouble just like bus loads of Mexicans and others have been bussed in to towns today. The only difference is that so far the Mexicans were not able to incite the riots. You would not believe how easy it is to start a riot or a race war. It takes next to nothing as almost happened in LA during the recent illegal immigrant rights marches. These aren't things to joke about. They are terrifying and destructive. The bad part is that Blacks in the 60s destroyed much of their own neighborhoods -- not necessarily the people who lived there but the ones that were bussed in -- the agitators. It's really important to pay attention. We know people who lived and worked in D.C. during the riots. They had black friends, friends from other countries and white friends. As they tell their stories about having to walk home after having been shut out of their office buildings and having tear gas thrown at them as the police tell them to get out of the streets and then have them beaten with clubs by police because they wouldn't (because they were locked out, they couldn't) get off the streets, we learn that they lived the terror of real war during those riots. It's not a good thing and it makes for PTSD and nightmares.

Wow! Talk about a mistrust of Government!
Tell me: which "race" are you and which "race" were you referring to? It doesn't matter if you believe the Bible version or creation or the liberals version of "coming out of Africa" everyone comes from the same ancestors, therefore, allegedly, there are no "races" (which is supported scientifically).
The problem comes when people do not use their heads and let emotions override their common sense.
Until then, trust in the police forces to do their jobs. Don't make things worse.

Like John Wayne said once : That would be the day !
Well, let see, we have had wars because of differences in religious , Ideas, garb some thing the other side had and just for the heck of it. And of course we have had more than enough of genocides. Don't you think we had enough?

There is a reason why whites are not allowed to show some kind of "racial unity" like Latinos or Blacks do. It's because it fortifies a group of people.
And "they" don't want whites to be fortified. If society doesn't care about racism towards whites (for example, the media doesn't care about a white female getting raped by blacks), imagine when whites will be a minority.
Think about it when you watch tv or a movie. Whites are ridiculed and blacks are made desirable. A lot of times you will see a muscular black guy with a white female....while the white male is lonely and pitiful. Have a try watching MTV, they show teenage girls as prostitutes (the show "the future pussycat doll, for example) and in concerts, you see white females with black males.
They want to break and destroy what unites whites.

If threatened with violence I would defend my family, friends and neighbors regardless of race, color or creed. I am white and there is nothing any group of people could do that would make me attack another group of people. I would defend but not attack. I assume good people everywhere of all races would do the same.

I'm sure with every group, there are racists. Fine.
What we argue about, though, is NOT racism. It is illegal immigration.
I can almost guarantee you that if they give amnesty to all of the people who are here illegally, it will start a civil war of sorts.
Don't make the immigration issue, however, into a race issue.
*EDIT*
Well, darlin', if this ain't an immigration issue, you're posting this in the wrong section.

None of my friends are racist so we would protect each other and shoot anyone who wasn't one of our group.Yes we have discussed these scenarios.Mainly because of how hateful people are getting. And we have many races in our group so we would survive.
