I think I understand what you mean. I have noticed as of late that there are quite a few people who have an attitude but that is all they have. Paris Hilton comes to mind.
In my life, I have always thought that an attitude was something you earned the right to have. If you accomplished great things, you deserved to have an attitude. If you have yet to accomplish anything worthy of note, you should be humble until you do.
However, truly the most impressive people are those who have accomplished wonderful things but remain modest and approachable. I suppose if you are really great you don't need the attitude or constant attention.
