find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
"diet groups" usually have too little calorie daily plans so you might lose water weight and muscle but not fat and slow down metabolism (less muscle- slower metabolism) and as soon as you start eating normal you gain even more back.

There are some really good ways to lose weight without joining a club or a fad diet. I know. I went from 265 lbs to 135 in 18 months! How did I do it?
1) I accepted who I am at 265 lbs, that I was a good person worthy of love, that I was in control of my body and that I could be skinny if I wanted to
2) I listened to what my body really wanted. Craving chocolate? How much did I really need to be satisfied? Usually the answer was one hershey's kiss was enough, so that is what I ate. Craving McDonalds? Instead of buying the supersize meal, I asked myself what was it I really wanted? French Fries and hot fudge sunday.......skip the Big Mac! I felt SATISFIED! As soon as I felt full and happy, I stopped eating and gave myself permission to throw the rest away. I found I was eating less AND healthier! I started to crave apples.....I ate 4 whole ones for lunch and dinner one day, and the craving was gone. Next day it was peanut butter on toast!
3) Take the stairs, avoid the elevator. Even if it is just up one flight at a time. Find a sport or hobby that is outdoors, like gardening, and do it. Walk EVERYWHERE!
4) Reward myself for losing weight. I would buy a new pair of those expensive jeans I was craving, or that new haircut I wanted each time I lost another 5 lbs that stayed off for 2 weeks. My larger sizes were donated to friends and Goodwill.
5) Pick a weight range that you would be happy with. After being 265 lbs., anything lighter would make me happy. I thought back and decided that I felt the healthiest when I weighed 140 lbs. When I weighed less than 130, I felt sick, and when I was over 160, I had no energy, so I chose that as my target range. I don't get upset when I go up 10 lbs anymore, I keep my favorite pants in two sizes, 10 and 12. When the 12's get tight, I ask myself what has changed in my life (stress, new job, less exercise, etc.) and try to adjust.
6) Give your TV to a friend, and allow yourself no more than 1 hour on the computer per day. (use a timer). It is amazing at how much getting rid of the TV helped!
Last of all, love yourself. You are a good person no matter how much you weigh. Inside of you is this beautiful, skinny, wonderful person that is worth all of the effort. Know that you were put here for a reason, and even if you stay a size 20 forever, that will never change.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

Size 20 and 5ft 10inches doesn't sound very big. But I know it is important that you feel good in your own skin. I lost over 20lbs doing the weight watchers at home program. Did not go to meetings or anything. You can go on the Weight Watchers website and get info on getting the kit or pick up a WW magazine, the kit is advertised there too. What is great about WW is you get to eat what you like. Its about portion control and making healthy decisions. But you get to choose what you want and like to eat. You count points and you even get "free points". What helped me too was having a co-worker who was on the program too. She did the on-line version...again no meetings. It is really cool to calculate your point values on different foods instead of counting calories and fat. WW does it all for you. You just make the healthy choices! Good Luck!

If you want to lose weight I strongly recommend, and please take this seriously, the Arcade game Dance Dance Revolution. Studys have statistically shown that DDR is a fun and active way to lose carbs, and can be spiced up with some hand weights. West Virginia schools have even incorporated DDR pads in almost all of their schools. The standard DDR costs around 60 bucks, but you can always download Stepmania and hook it up to your computer with an adapter. Don't feel like this is a kid thing, its really fun and an easy way to lose weight!

eat 5-6 small meals throughtout the day to keep your metoblism running but try not to eat several hours before you go to bed so that food wont be stuck in one spot all night.
this will help:
Breakfast-1/2 cup egg beaters its equilavent to 2 regular eggs but without the fat and cholestral and a cup of milk
Lunch-Soup such as chicken noodle and a cup of green tea
Dinner-seafood or lean meat, veggies, cup of milk
also try to eat a small meal between those other meals so your metoblosim will stay running. Drink lots of water so youll say fuller longer. Also try not to eat several hours before you go to bed as your food will go nowhere. Hope this helps

Yes!
It's the little things that count, for example, don't fry your food, i haven't used the fryer in a month, and it's easy to get into this kind of lifestyle. Put tomatoes raw onions, and raw pepper on all your meals (except breakfast!)
don't butter your bread when you have a sandwich, you'll get used to it... like i said, it's the little things that make the difference.
You realise how much fat you'll cut out by eating sensibly and not adding stuff like spread to your sandwiches?
It all mounts up!
Good luck!

The old adage still works. Diet and exercise will cause weight loss in a normal person.

Ask for your entrée being served on a bed of greens rather than a bed of pasta or mashed carrots.

Vegetable diet, drink loads of water, and walk. Quite simple really. Treat yourself to a low fat ice cream once a week. (A small portion). x I forgot, low fat butter, give up bread and give up potatoes. Just watched a friend lose 2 stone in a matter of weeks. So it works. xx
