Get your wife to a pain clinic-- preferrably one where the pain management doc is a neurologist. I promise that they will work with your wifde and find the medications that work best for her pain, even if they are narcotics. She will need all her medical records. This webiste has a search function to help patients find pain doctors in their area: http://www.aapainmanage.org/info/Patients.php
Seeing a pain doctor is much safer than trying to self medicate. The Tylenol #1 is not good for long-term use because of the Tylenol. My pain doc is wonderfule; even the doctor wqho FOUND the cause of my chronic pain and told me I had to see a pain doctor made me feel like a junkie because narcotics were what worked, but this doc definitely doesn't. He has put me on Oxycontin and OxyFast liquid for my pain and it has changed my life. Pain docs are not afraid to write narcotic scripts because they make patients sign a contract stating specific rules they have to follow and agreeing to monitoring such as random urine tests and pill counts to insure compliance with medication. Good luck to you and your wife.

No... it is not legal to obtain them with out a prescription. 99 % of these outfits are in other countries., many of which are third world. Many of the medications are sub-standard, out of date and just plain unsafe! The only country that I would trust getting meds from is Canada, but they will require a prescription.

I thought it was Tylenol # 3 that has codeine in it...I got it after surgery but never got it before or after such an event.
Tylenol with codeine is strictly prescription only, not available off the shelf in Canada (unless Quebec has their own rules as they often do).
I think the Canadian rules say Canadians can bring medicine or Rx to Canada if its for your own use, but you're not allowed to give it or sell it to anyone else. USA rules might be different, they might ban it outright if they classify it strictly as a narcotic even despite health/pain needs.

If your wife is suffering from migraines, she should ask her doctor to prescribe one of the new migraine medications out there, Imitrex, Amerge, Frova. The Frova worked wonders for me. If her migraines are chronic, the doctor can also prescribe the anti-seizure medication Topamax which is taken on a daily basis. I understand that it works very well for chronic migraines. Tylenol #1 or 222's as they are known in Canada, can be bought over the counter and you could just bring them back across the border without declaring, but I don't recommend that. Also, they do not work for migraines, they can even cause them to become worse by causing rebound headaches.

You'll need a prescription to bring it into this country. Sorry. Pain killers don't really work on migraines anyway. They just dull the pain, but don't fix the situation. She should try drugs like Imitrex for her headaches.
