I went when I got divorced. It really helped me and the kids get used to being alone.

Going to the psychologist is so normal. Like a cold in day in Alaska. Don't be embarrased to go. Psychologists are people that are there to help you. I am sure that they have gotten cases like yours before and they know what to do. If you still feel like you shouldn't go then why don't you confide in a close friend? I am sure that will be a lot of help, too. I went to the psychologist once I am still 15, and I went because I was very self-conscious about my weight. Good luck.

hey Im 21 and I have been going to therapy since age of 8. I had a very hard life but therapy has helped me tremendously over the years. It's nice to be able to talk to someone who will just listen to you, its a good venting to and you'll be surprised how good you feel!!!!! Your definetly not the only one soooo many people go to therapy!! Try writing in a journal too!! These 2 things should help you!!!!

A lot of people spend time on the couch to work thru family problems. It helps to sort thru things, figure out how to deal with something should it come about in the future, etc.

I saw one for years as a kid as part of my therapy for ADD. Was no biggie for me.
Been seeing one with my kid for years as well to help him deal with some stuff too.

Personally I do. I am 21 years old and still living at home and my mom drives me crazy. I really need to move out but I really wouldnt make it on my own... I actually go for unresolved childhood issues. Its really like this pain will never go way... oh well. Hope that helps. Good luck.

absolutely.completely normal and no reason to be ashamed. if we can't figure stuff out on our own,why not find someone neutral who can help us? i have seen a doc for some years now and i have a friend who started a year ago b/c she just wasn't moving on with her life. we have both benefitted from it. go see one. what have you got to lose?
