After reading all the other comments I would like to point out the fact that she is still only 16. Stating that she should get used to the real world means nothing because there is plenty of time for that. Your 16 and the real world is all around you. Have fun. I understand there is no better time to learn what reality will be, but don't just chalk your day to day experiences up to a dull work life. You will have 50+ years of that. Working is fine when your 16, but moderation is certainly a key. You should either talk to your manager and explain the your simply working too much and would like part time hours if they are available, or if thats not possible place your resignation. Your teen years are a great time to learn about life and become mature, but don't forget to have fun while doing it. Life really doesnt have to be boring if you don't let it. Work, but dont work too much. Besides, you will have school to focus on soon, which is more important by a long shot.

Many of us get into jobs that aren't what we think they'll be. And the good news is, there's no law saying you must keep a job (unless you have a contract). I hope you don't have a contract.
I know someone that did progress in the ladder, I don't know how much time or how much work it took, but, I imagine it took a lot of pavement pounding and standing in the sun and rain. The bottom line is, if you hate it, it will never serve you well. These companies hire people all the time and I guarantee you'll be forgotten by them the day you quit.
Consider and pursue the things you like to do as hobbies or dream of, and you will find something more purposeful to you.

It is not a good idea not to show up. Those things are better if they are said personally, than by the phone. Talk to the manager, make up some good reason why you can't work, because you never know if you are going to return there one day. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT: NEVER EVER leave the old job before you find a new one. You got to live on something, and a job is not easy ti find these days!

It doesn't sound like they've been honorable to you with a deceptive job description.
Two wrongs don't make a right, though, and you want to at a minimum call them. Telling them in person is the straight-up thing to do and you'll respect yourself more. Also, you never know when you may need their goodwill (although I wouldn't put this job on a resume).
Use this as a lesson for the future and check things out a bit more. Unfortunately, for sales jobs I think the selling applies to trying to get new employees in the door as well.

Wow, I don't blame you for hating it. Bugging people for a job has to be one of the worst things ever.
I would show up for work Monday, talk with the manager and tell him simply that this job isn't for me. Tell him that your quitting. If you settle it in a polite manner, he will respect your decision and you'll still lose the job, but still get paid for the days you worked. Why not take the money you earned? Its stupid to just forget about it.

You quit pretty much the same way you would if you'd been there longer - write a letter to your manager saying "Effective (2 weeks out) I resign my position with (company name)."
They will probably tell you to leave right away, but it's good to at least offer the two weeks notice. Since you've only worked a couple days, it's very unlikely they'll take you up on it.
Good luck on your next job.

It doesn't sound like much fun or a management position. You could just call in on the next work day and tell them you quit. going in person, they will probably try to talk you out of quitting. You will probably have to tell someone why you are quitting,

Don't not show up ...call them or go to the office and tell them directly - its much more polite...but based on other questions you recently asked - why are you doing supermarket sales when you are an IT consultant? You quit another job too?

Wow...that sounds like a bad job to be honest. I would call the manager as soon as possible and tell him that you want to quit, it's as simple as that!
