i would like to go camping for a weekend and would like to know the best to go for fishing swimming hiking and just relaxing,

sly park lake is great and about an hour and a half from sacto. folsom lake bites. ice house or union reservoir is a great place too. but as for in sacto? not much hope there.

The only place I know of to camp in Sacramento would be the KOA in West Sacramento, I remember it was close to the I-880 freeway on the south side, just before the causeway on the way to Davis. There maybe swimming there and there should be fishing close by as it in close to the Sacramento River. Ask information for the number of the KOA campground in West Sacramento. There are State of Calif camp grounds. on Folsom Lake. You may want to try contacting them.Beals Point is one, also one on the American River called ***** Bar.

About an hour and a half away to Ice House above Placerville, great camping fishing and hiking.
