When ever I try to pick him up for the night and take him up to my room he would always run to my brothers side. I try to get him back but he shows his teeth and growls. He had even bitten me a couple of times and his teeth are sharp. He's a yorkie-poo. And about 1. I just wish I knew where I went wrong when I was raising him. Sometimes he's mean and some time he's nice. Even though he's mean I still love him very much. And I flick him on the nose but that would work and sometimes it would just make him more mad. I don't want to put him asleep because he's a really sewwt dog and I love him way to much. I just want him to come to me and love me :( .

Okay. Do not flick your dog on the nose - that is certainly making things much worse. If you want to change the way things are with your dog, you must stop punishing him. Punishment does exactly what you don't like in this case : it's made your dog mistrustful of you.
Here are some things that dogs don't like:
-staring directly at them
-reaching out to them and grabbing at them
-when they ask to be left alone (running to your brother) continuing to grab for them. This is asking for trouble. It's very lucky that your dog is warning you that he will bite by showing you his teeth. If he didn't warn you, you'd have some nasty bites by now.

Instead, have treats in your hand when you call your dog. Only call your dog once. If he comes, drop a treat or 2 on the floor and praise him. Do this many times a day. This will change his mind about coming to you.
Play hide and seek with your dog when he's coming to you happily. This continues the game and is fun for the dog. Always pay your dog with treats when he finds you.
Being in tune with what your dog likes (and NOT what he "should" like) is important. See a trainer if you feel that things are still going wrong.

Maybe the dog is sore or its the way you pick it up that bothers the dog. Try a different approach try getting the dog to follow you to your room before you pick it up. The flicking on the nose thing i'd stop that it only will make the dog meaner.

Quit trying to MAKE him do what you want, and stop flicking him on the nose. Would you come to someone who flicks you on the nose? I'm guessing "no".

Try treating him nice, and stop being such a twit. You use treats and a sweet voice to get his attention, and play nicely with him...you don't grab him and haul him around and you don't flick him on the nose.

(*sigh*) Sorry, but the whole idea that you've "trained" him to be mean (by flicking him) and then you mention putting him to sleep because YOU messed up, really annoys me.

Maybe he just doesn't like it so don't pick him up. Try taking him to obedience school or ask advice at a pet store or better yet a groomers. Pet store people are only younger workers that probably don't even know what a yorkie-poo is, so try someone knowledgeable like a groomer who sees and deals w/all kinds

Maybe you can try to call him and show him a piece of treat (or a piece of food), that way your dog will associate something good each time you call him at nights. Give it a try for a week to see if it works!!

Apparently not everyone knows how to handle dogs, according to some of these answers given to you. You need to watch the Dog Whisperer. Cesar Millan. That will solve all your problems with your dog. The one good answer that told u that u were not the alpha, they are right. You can go to ebay and order a dvd on dog aggression. He really helped me with my great dane when he was a puppy. He HAD a real aggression problem. The problem is people try to make animals people. They are animals and unless you talk their talk you're gonna have problems. Good luck.

instead of piking him up maybe show him that you are putting a treat or something he likes down there. If he growls dont touch him but firmly say no. Hope I could help.
