Hi, My feet are OK, just my skin I have never attended to , I'm sort of a female farmer. My skin was always white when it was popular to be tan so I never took care of it because who wanted pretty white skin in the 60's? But alas, after using my feet for so long, they are dry, cracked, and kind of burn. I know I just need to lotion them up with something that is very good and perhaps soak them every night and baby them, but what might be some good ideas. Should I wear a certain kind of sock like for a diabetic or such to baby them ? I almost always have socks on because the carpet sucks the oil out of my feet. No smart aleck answers, altho a joke now and then never hurts :)

I had the same problem cuz i'm diabetic. I soak my feet in the tub or bucket of hot soapy water while i watch tv for a while then i use a foot stone to rub of all the dry dead skin (it will make your skin smooth as a baby!) then rinse them real well so there's no soap film to dry them out even more. while your feet are still wet slosh on a good moisturizer & let them air dry. once i got rid of all the dead skin I found i only have to do this 1 or 2 times a week, but apply moisturizer every nite after shower. remember to change your moisturizer cuz your body will adjust to it if you keep using the same thing & it will no longer be benificial. You need to change them just like your shampoos, conditioners, bath soaps etc. If it's really bad you can rub them with vaseline before you go to bed & put on fresh white socks or booties. hope this helps you! good luck!

Being a farm girl, you have access to some of the best products on the market! My husband had really dry, badly cracked heels, too. I had him try the product I use on my horses' hooves-- "Hoofmmaker." He would use a pumice stone to get the dry skin off, then slather on the Hoofmaker and put his socks on and go to bed. Worked great for him!

The other product that lots of my friends swear by is "Bag Balm," but we never tried that one.
