I have two orphan kittens approx. 4 weeks old I have taken in. I took them to the vet today for a checkup and a deworming. I am curious as to what if any side effects there are in giving a kitten this type of dewormer? One kitten is doing fine and the other is not wanting to eat and will not stop crying! I called and talked to the emergency vet's office in town and they gave me a bit of a "don't care" attitude and was more worried about telling me how much the fees for bringing the kitten in instead of trying to help....

the taste of thworming meds put him off food. just keep trying, my kittens were approx 31/2 weeks old when they were de wormed using panicur and one sarabi didn't want milk for awhile, my vet advised 2/3milk 1/4 teaspoon sugar and 1/3 water to get glucose levels up and after a wile she started taking the milk you will need to drop the milk in until he/she decides to suckle. it is really important to keep the food coming even if they aren't eating properly. i hope that when you wormed them you defleaed them as well. if you did watch their fur if you used frontline as one of my lil ones lost his fur. try and talk to a different vet.

It is probably from teh stress of going to the vets.
Just keep an eye on him and if you have to get some chicken jared Baby food and try to give that to him even if you have to use an eye dropper to get it in him this is if he doesn't eat bye tomorrow evening.
