I once knew someone who had a near death experience and when he was brought back to life, he said he had spent that time in hell. It changed his life.

Think again. Supposed NDE's are nothing more than your brain dying. Note you wouldn't have actually died since you're still alive to talk about it later. As long as your brain lives there is no reason to believe NDE's are nothing more than a dreamlike state. The unconscious mind doing what it does just like when you're asleep. Even after the heart stops the brain lives for 6 to 8 minutes. There is no reason to believe it's nothing more than brain activity during the dying process.

Fighter pilots who are enduring high G-forces often report near-death experiences. And they are not dying. But they are losing oxygen to their brain and passing out. So it would be a logical conclusion that near death experiences are a dream like state that occurs when the brain loses oxygen.

No. I have had three near death experiences. First, when I was 7, I almost drowned. Second, when I was10, I almost got hit by a car. Third, I tried to jump out of a tree (Huge) and kill myself.

Still an Atheist.

A few do. More people realize that an NDE is a natural thing that the mind does so that the body will calm down.

They go on living.

I would imagine that answer would be different for each individual. Perhaps some convert, perhaps some confirm what they've always believed.

Really.... I see.... well I guess you know me better than I do then. See, I just figured it was my brain random firing during an extremely traumatic event. Silly me, I was wrong, I guess logic means nothing at all because the religious know it all.

Think about it.
