I believe every human lies. Some lie to hurt others, some lie to spare the feelings of another person. Then, there are others who lie compulsively about things that don't necessarily need to be lied about.
If you feel guilty, you should try telling the truth. You'll feel better.

It is best that you tell your friend nothing than to lie to her. Lies are a sign of weakness in the character. In the olden days a person who lied was also beleived to be a person that may steal.
I dont really think you are either of these. The main thing is that now that you have told this whopper--take her aside by herself and tell her you are sorry and tell her the truth. You will feel better after the explosion is over. Dont forget to tell her
that you feel guilty about the lie to her and promise never to do it again.
Walk tall my child and be proud to correct this and stay tall by knowing you are not a liar.

Iam a very honest person. I have told lies in the past when I was much much younger, but as an adult and knowing the difference between right and wrong and being a child of God, I no longer lie. There is no reason on this earth to tell a lie. Honesty is always the best policy.

Telling a lie and hiding the truth are two distinctively different issues.
I refrain my self from lying but I might withhold a truth that could harm or hurt a person unable to handle truth.
Time ago a friend told me that a lie requires many more lies to support it but truth can stand alone.
Besides a lie puts the recipient in a false state of mind and that's too much of a burden to carry not to mention the responsibility attached to it.

i told lies when i was younger for example my parents would ask me where i was going and i would tell them i was going to a friends house when really we were going to meet boys.
Unfortunatly i am a crap liar and i think they knew. I think the best thing is to tell the truth even if it isnt something that someone doesnt want to hear.I have fallen out with someone at the moment because they lied and it really hurt me. I cant lie anyway because i get a red face and feel uncomfortable and start to stutter. The best thing is to be honest because you always get found out in the end(unless you are a very good liar).

generally i don't say lies..we have to live in truth..
and in some situations..that depends..on what kind of lies..you say...for example i tell my husband that..i go out..and actually i go to visit some friends..he doesn't like..because they are poor..
and i don't feel guilty..he should feel guilty...
and by the way..if you shut up and don't say the truth..it is as if you tel a lie..sometimes ..
other time you better shut up and keep the truth ..for yourself..
e.g.i couldn't tell to the wife of a man i know..that his husband looked at me..while they were about to marry...and i didn't accept this ...and i pretended i don't notice what he does..then he wanted to be introduce to other woman and i also didn't tell her about this..and it is ok..after couple of years when i and her met after they were married..i told him...your wife is extraordinarily..well he was a little ignorant..didn't see that his future wife was very beautiful and clever ...now..they understand perfectly each other and they are happy..and i would never say what he did ..or wanted to do..because i would destroy their life..and ..anyway..men are so ..dissipated...it is perfect that he has a perfect family life now..he evoluated ..let's say..
but my husband allwayes tells lies...and i believed what he said..until i found out the truth..and well i will divorce now..and he could continue to tell lies to the next wife...or maybe she will be a whore and it won't be necessary to tell her lies because he will feel very good with her...in bed..and maybe she will clean the house better ..because i have to study some books..

I try not to. We aren't supposed to though innit Ummmm I might make a few things up on line. For instance I don't really keep my teeth in bleach over night (don't tell anyone). Ummm and reveal my true identity as a municipal car park attendant in Bognor. But other than that I'm pretty lie free. I made that up I think I'm not sure I can't remember.

People who always tell the truth never have to live with the fear of being caught out.
however everyone lies at some point because we have all inherited sin (this is not an excuse to lie though) and anyone who says they have never lied is a LIAR lol

Have been known to on occasion, but don't do it on a regular basis. I usually tell fibs when I think the truth might hurt the other person. I don't brag about my sex life or tell yarns about my fishing and hunting exploits tho. My sex life these days in non-existant and I do not fish or hunt, so anything I would say on such subjects would have to be made up. I have also been known to write fiction, which being untrue might be considered by many to be lying.

No. I have never told one not even a little white lie. Firstly because I was brought up to believe honesty is the best policy, and secondly because my memory isn't good enough to remember who I lied to and what about! My mum used to say she could put up with a thief rather than a liar because with a thief you knew what to watch for.
