I mean, can you imagine how silly it is to apply some kind of apocalyptic biblical meaning to venereal diseases?

If AIDS is punishment for being gay, then is strep throat punishment for using public transport?

The automobile makers would absolutely say that is so. I'm surprised they don't already have a commercial to scare the average public transport user into buying a car. Using statistics from some fly-by-night company who cooked them up for this specific purpose and of course paid for by Big Oil.

I don't believe that the AIDS virus is punishment for anyone.

It is just a virus that mutated. Some say it was from the prized White-nose monkey in Africa that carry the virus type SIV.

The monkey is a delicacy in some African countries, so maybe it was introduced in humans via the bush meat that was eaten. That is one theory that may be true.

Well, AIDS could be a punishment for being a hemophiliac. It's most certainly not a punishment for being a lesbian, since woman-to-woman transmission is virtually unknown.

Logically, you make sense in the "if-then" sense.

But the mistake is in your first "if." That presupposition is not true. AIDS is not God's punishment on anybody.
