If you are going with the rapture then the book of Revelations says that the end days will be violent because it will be a time of war and many false prophets trying to rise up as the anti-christ. Also, if you do not leave the rapture then the time that you stay here on earth until Armageddon will also be violent because the Anti-Christ will be ruling and the whole world will be fighting with each other

Hmm...loaded question: Hi, I'm a teacher of the manuscripts, and my specialty study is
Prophecy.
Its gonna be.......the biggest religious tent revival of all time. This is why:
Antichrist will be coming, and he's gonna come in disguised as Christ, pretending to be Christ, professing that he is Christ. He will act the exact opposite of what folks expect if it were the bad old devil coming. No, he will look like the picture of Jesus that Granny has hanging on her wall; and he's gonna act like preacher/teacher/savior, just like Jesus would act. This is the great deceit of the end-times. Christ said that if He hadn't shortened the time, no flesh would be saved" (mark 13) They would all end up deceived. This fake will end war (some "peace" right there) stop homelessness, a chicken in every pot and a prosperous, wonderful time for all - that is, all that accept him as Jesus Christ. So your question is an interesting one, because although everything will SEEM wonderfully
peaceful, actually there will be an underlying
truth that something is terribly, terribly wrong. When the two witnesses are killed in the arena set up in Jerusalem, the people will cheer that they are dead, because these two would torture the people so badly - how will he torture them? With truth. The World will be so deceived and so delusional that
the truth tortures them with confusion - babel, where the word "babylon" comes from, and that Antichrist will be the end-times King of Babylon - confusion. Thats what the word means.
While the people are cheering and giving gifts to one another to celebrate the death of these two, 3 1/2 days go by and they rise from the dead. You see, the people won't allow them to be buried - they publically display the bodies because they don't want any of that "rising from the dead" stuff going on - no, they're gonna keep an eye on these two - and then they rise to their feet. The people will realize they've been had, and Christ will return. Instantly, we will all (good and bad - all) will be changed into our spiritual bodies, and some will "awaken" to the realization that although they are in a spiritual body, they still have a mortal soul - one that is perishable. The true Christ will find his spiritual bride (no gender intended) bedded down with a different husband. Many of those tv preachers who teach the rapture doctrine, will have led hundreds of thousands of people to be devil worshippers - they were the first group deceived, because they thought it was Christ come to rapture them to safety before anything bad happened. Anyway,
Christ is not going to be pleased. He's been
storing up alot of vengence, and he intends to pour the entire cup of it out - to those who deserve it, its a consuming fire that will cleanse all the filth and destroy all those evil rudiments on the earth; but to Gods children who had not accepted the mark of Antichrist, those will be warmed by it like sitting next to a fireplace - There will be no "friendly fire", in other words no harm would come to Gods children - the consuming fire has no affect on us. So what I'm trying to say here, is that whether it ultimately be violent or peaceful is really dependant on who you are - whether you are in Gods camp, or you're one of those that he tells "get away from me, I never knew you". Violent or peaceful is really up
to us and what we individually deserve. God is fair - everybody is gonna get exactly what they deserve: no more, no less. I'm planning on "peaceful" myself.
I know, I know, I left some stuff out - I'm trying to be concise! But basically you get my point, right?
Have a great nite and wonderful Memorial
Weekend!

In a way both. In the bible it says that the first world was detroyed by water. Fire is the next method. When Christ comes back, he is coming for his people. Real Christians will go with him while everyone else will stay here were torment may began but even then you have a chance to make things right. If you are a "good" person and u believe in God you have NOTHING to worry about.

Let's see:
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
There are more verses. To answer this question, I would say, very violent.

Violent. In 2012, the Poles will switch around, the crust of the Earth will actually revolve around the Core, causing massive Tidal waves, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. It might not be the end of the world, but it will certainly be a mass extinction. Then the octupi will rise from the sea and evolve into the new dominant species in millions of years. :)

The end of this world is to be violent. It says in Revelation that were it not for God stepping in and stopping the violence, that no flesh would be left alive.
Governments will be overthrown by God putting it into mens minds to fight one an other.
