I can understand them asking questions and answering the ones directed towards them but...

I agree with you. They just like to 'try' to make Christians angry but at the same time, their curiosity about God is peaked so that is why they swarm in to the Religious section. I pray for them daily.

Because those are the ones that are curious about God's words. It is kind of like 'planting a seed' and leaving them curious to ask questions about God. The other reason I believe, is because they are looking for the truth, but they just don't want to come out of the darkness because they are afraid or either enjoying their life and it is an inconvenient for them to let go of the things that are en-lightning them because they don't see it that way. They are blinded by the adversaries' ways. But, someday, God will open their eyes and they will see that God is there for them, but until they seek Him first in repentance....then all things will be added unto them.

Why do the people who believe in god believe that they have the right to answer questions about a being so great as to be beyond their understanding?

Because some of us know much more than religious people do about the concepts of god and religion. We want to help.

To try to get them to see a more reasonable point of view.

Democracies are anti-dictatorship, but we still try to get the dictators to see our point of view.
