There is more to be added to that question before it can be answered, like, did the telling of the lie which accomplished moral or ethical good also cause negative effects, ie: moral or ethical evil ? If so, than it is not justified. If it ONLY caused good, which is about impossible, than yes, it is justified. Be very careful if you are justifying actions with this thought, you can easily fool yourself.

Never. A lie is always still going to be a lie, and no matter what you think it can accomplish, it still will never be right, and if anyone found out about the lie, well you'd be in the dog house! Lying is never a good idea, don't even start. "The truth shall set you free"

Usually the truth becomes know in time and I think it does more damage then having been told the truth from the start or even better don't say anything at all.

Nope...because it is accomplished under false notions or pretenses.
Think about this... If you were broke and needed some cash...and you knew that killing your mother would mean you would get a million dollar inheritance. And your mother was on her death bed...would you pull the plug.

mmmmm it all depends. personally if you lie and it benifits others, then yes...if it harms others or is just a plain lie then thats not morally or ethically good.
