I didn't know that it was. Are Canadians aware that they are soon to have open borders? They've been signed up to join the North American Union.

Well...I can't say it is a "Taboo Topic" in Canada? I discuss issues like this all of the time,in my various circle's. I think alot of Canadian's have about the same concerns for this issue,as their U.S. neighbours! I believe that most of us are dismayed with how Immigration is handled,and more importantly...the quality of the Immigrant's we let into the Country! I am certain that most Canadian's are aware of the fact that Immigration...has long been a "vote buying" technique that has been used by our Government's for quite some time. In my view a lot of Canadian's don't mind Immigration per se,it is really how the department is handled...and the types of Immigrant's that are entering the Country! Same in the U.S. where they are about to unleash a huge "Amnesty" on illegals. Most feel that the "system" is far too open,and alot of the Illegal enterer's have no respect for the Laws of the Land. I think alot of people are also fed up with the "Welfare Shopper's" and those who would bring their old problems with them. Too often we've heard someone boast about their old country,and supposedly How bad Canada is to them. My first response is always...If it is so bad to you,why are you here? Or how about...Back in my old country we had this,this and this! My response is- But You are not back in your old country,are you? I am certain that most Canadian's,like American's...want an Immigration system that works. One that addresses the Economic and Social needs of the country,but doesn't parley favour to Bogus Refugee's and Illegal's! We generally want Immigrants that will contribute to the society,and take on our National Identity as Canadian's. The U.S. citizens are demanding the same also! What most of us do not want to see...are Illegal Immigrant's,and those who show a callous disrespect for the Laws and Rules of the Nation. We also don't want to see the Immigration Portfolio,being used by Politician's as a "Vote Buying" tool! Remember the Judy Sgro/Russian Stripper Affair? How about Air India? Why were some "so-called" Immigrant's of High Crime's continued to be allowed to live here? Mohammed Mahmoud,Charles Eng,Somali Warlords Wife,Tamil Tigers etc. But yet we wasted no time in turfing out "Bambi" Bambenek,and a host of others...who probably had some sound reason's to come here? The Ministry of Immigration and Citizenship is not a Taboo subject...it's really a Bad Joke,where We pay dearly for all of its mistake's!

It's never been a taboo subject here in Canada.

I think because most of us are descended from immigrants and know darn well if it weren't for immigration most of us wouldn't be here.

Mostly I think we're frustrated because of the laws now limiting what some immigrants can do. We have a large shortage of doctors, yet doctors from the Middle East can't practice here because they need clinical experience in Canada, which they can't get because they didn't study here! It's ridiculous.

We are the second largest country in the world and have a paltry 33 million people. There's lots of room for more.

Probably because the immigrants can vote and politicians want their votes. The same thing is going on the US. Screw the native-born citizens and the country, the Dems and Republicans need those votes! It is disgusting---

You have a voting base that is largely white that feels threatened by visible minority immigrants so they do their best not to hire visible minorities and oppose those who run on election platforms that encourage immigration from non-white countries.

What is it that one of your responder's said "whites built this country"? Sums it up in a nutshell.

There is institutionalized racial discrimination in Canada because there are no real employment laws to restrict discrimination and encourage diversity in the workplace.

5 years ago a nationwide survey showed that 72% of canadians feel there are too many immigrants.

How come our hands are so tied? You call this democracy?

You think we like the fact that the government prefers replacing whites with millions of non-whites from africa or asia?

I just don't want my kids to be the minority in the future. Whites built this country.

"There is institutionalized racial discrimination in Canada because there are no real employment laws to restrict discrimination and encourage diversity in the workplace."

Why this desire to encourage diversity? Sums it up in a nutshell.

Diversity = anti-white.
