There is nothing kiddish about Daisy. I got the name for my Beagle from the comics, Snoopy.
As was mentioned before Daisy is one of the most popular names. I did a search and looked at pet insurance records, New York health department, a dog name tag maker and a couple of others and Daisy was in the top 10 in all of them.
I would bet your mom and brothers would think my Pit Bull's name is kiddish or sissy. Her name is Honey. They would probably say my little 20 lb Terrier has a good name, Bear.
Good luck.

Tell them even at that young of an age she probably knows her name, I know mine does. You would have to change it to something similar or she will be confused. Plus all the names similar are probably more kidish than daisy. Daisy is not a bad name. Maybe add something behind it like daisy may or something. Of course, I would not start a huge fight over it. Put the names in a hat and see if she gets confused by a new name. If she does, the old one sticks.

I personally think that Daisy is a beautiful name for a dog. Kiddish names make them seem like they will always be puppies, and will never grow up. Maybe each of you in family can pick a name and put it in a basket and whichever one you pick out will be her name. Or you can each choose a name, and within a week, and then have a vote on a name. What about:
Daisy May
Kona (good name for a big dog)
Sasha
CoCo
Tasha
Sophie
Sadie
Basil
Good luck, tell your mom that the name Daisy is one of the top 20 popular names for dogs. here is a website where you can find more pet names.

Daisy is not kiddish, it's a famous name. Even the cartoon character Dagwood has his Daisy. If you continue to call her Daisy, she will learn that Daisy is her name. Everyone else will either go along, or have the challenge of teaching a puppy two or three names (not easy). Stick with Daisy.

I'm not sure I understand what the issue is. A young dog that is untrained will easily adapt to a new name if given one and trained to that. As far as getting your way with the name you like, you might not win that one. Perhaps you could all pick a name you like, and put them in a hat and draw the name. If everyone else likes a different name, then you will probably be outvoted!

It's not too late to change the name, just use the new one very often so the dog will get used to it.
How about "Diamond" ?

If there is disagreement, why not put the names in a hat, and draw?
