Why?

I have been inspired to ask this. Somewhere in our lives we have all faked it. Whether its in bed, at our church, our job, or with our families. Why do we feel this need? Why do we find it necessary? Where do you fake it most often? What would the concequences be if you were honest?

And for you who fuss about technicalities,
What would God think about you faking it?

We fake it to be a part, we fake it not to hurt someones feelings, Lots of different reason. I'm an atheists because I refuse to fake what I believe. If I fake believing in god, isn't that a lie? I try not to lie or fake it. Most of all to myself.

And rose, take you caps off! You do not need to scream and it doesn't make you right!

I think at times my whole life is a sham. For me, it's the need to conform to what everyone wants or expects me to be. If I were to be honest, basically, I would lose everything, well almost everything.

God would understand most definitely and He would say that the person I'd been hurting and lying to all this time was me. From my point of view, at least it's only me. As I always say to myself, "the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few"

as a young and impressionable child, I was put up to performing an act by a pentecostal pastor in front of baptist congregation and asked to speak in tongues for my baptism

years later (now) I see that as being used for self gain and staging miracles and adding to the confusion of what is already a mess of the 41,500 variations of christianity and those that fight who is right already

religions must be faked and supported by us. without the faking, it would just fall away

religion is like Mr. Rodger's land of Make Believe...

all must play along and fake it for it to continue

People can be cruel. Whenever I fake something, it's usually to avoid a negative reaction.

I fake being healthy every day. People don't like to know about pain. They can't see my problems, so they just as soon ignore them. It's usually easier on me to go along with it.

I would get kicked out of the social activities of my church if I did not fake a belief in God. We all have to do it.

Most people's behaviour is fake anyway.
It just depends on who you are with and how much you want to impress.

I've faked it at work quite a few times.

The only time I've faked it is when I'm around my best friend's parents. They're VERY religious so I don't say what I believe around them. I just fake it. If I told them how I really felt, it wouldn't be pretty. I'm looking into the Wiccan religion if they ever found out they'd pee themselves. lol

Just sayin.
