I was looking here for a confirmation of what I have heard, but instead I will tell you the information I have at this time: A friend who was knowledgable about dogs told me that grapes can make a dog very sick. I found this very odd since my puppy loves playing with seedless grapes before she eats them.

I then had a meeting with my vet to ask for his response to that question. He said that grapes cause a poison in the kidneys, I believe, and it can make the dog sick and eventually kill the dog if too much is consummed.

Depends on how many grapes you fed him. My dogs get a grape or two as a treat, but I never let them have a bunch. If he get's sick from the grapes, he can vomit them up. Or they will cause the other end to be busy. Just keep an eye on the dog to make sure that the busy end doesn't dehydrate the dog. If it was just a few, I doubt he'll get sick.

Both grapes and raisins are toxic to dogs. If you have given your dog a few, 1 or 2 then it maybe ok depending on the size of the dog. Do not in the future give your dog grapes or raisins. Why take any chances with your dog.

Grapes are very toxic/poisonous to dogs just like chocolate. On my pug forum there was a post where a dog ate ONE grape and died.

YES!!!! Grapes are toxic to dogs and they should not be fed grapes of any kind in any amount at any time!!!!

Please, do some research. There are many things we don't think twice about that will KILL a beloved pet. Grapes, onions, garlic, rhododendrons, hostas, milkweed, foxglove, lantana, and ivy just to name a few.

Grapes have been added to the List recently as being poisonous to dogs. So I suggest that you call your vet to get confirmation before you feed them any.

He may not apear sick but grapes are not good for a dog. It can mess up their insides. I believe it affects the liver or the kidneys. Can't quite remember, but you don't feed em to a dog. Same with raisins.

My parents had a border collie called seamus and she was ADDICTED to grapes. She would eat lb's of them if you let her but the only thing that happened to her was that she turned a faint green colour(her skin did) with no other effect what so ever,it was'nt permanent but just if she had eaten too many in one go,.She lived to a ripe old age so it could'nt have done her too much harm.
